spell casting???, when you know when your spell has power Options

my question is simple yet Im just wondering how you guys all know how much power/energy to summon for a spell..
sometimes I feel that spells drain me quite fast..and I was wondering do you guys know when to stop sending energy into the spell and into the world..I mean do you have an internal alarm that go's off or something , how do you know when the energy has been fully sent out with the spell..???

Putting things into perspective I've gotten lost. I can see that if you take away pretty much everything in the universe and have nothing. Then try to build something that works. Which is where im lost because what does this work with? I dont think we really know? So... If there is a cosmic nexus for my thought form to work in then I don't obviously know how this is going to work. But saying that... Im pictureing a whole (normally a sphere) giving it understanding (whats in the spell) and now activity in order for it to 'work'. Am I far off??? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fish1.gif)

The other way I could see things is that we are in contact with our guides, guardians and God's, who watch over our thoughts and all we need to do is symbolise what we want and of course ask for it politely.

It's giving energy a direction and purpose from your personal will and desires.

I think you're pretty spot on.

Which is kind of where I am at the moment. I'm a lot happier these days just letting my life go in the direction that is seen appropriate by the powers that be. For me magic is all about taking control in MY life , shaping MY future and getting what I want. And it all seems rather tedious now.
I'm a lot more happy and confident in just going with the flow and seeing where the natural order of things takes me - which could be where the real magic begins.
