The problem with getting lotter numbers via magick is that no one person knows what they will be.
Let us say that you summon a spirit or create a sigil to help you with an upcoming test. The answers exist somewhere in reality; in the teacher's mind, in books, in (probably) your own sub-concious from studying, etc. If you have an upcoming speech to give infront of co-workers you might copy and charge one of Solomon's talismans. As you start to deliver your speech you can feel the talisman calming your nerves. It helps you remember your lines. If charged well enough, it might even be effecting the audience in a positive manner. Your short on cash so you summon Ziku or maybe create a sigil to increase your luck with money. As you are walking down the street you find 20 dollars, or maybe you get a raise at work. In either situation, the sigil (or spirit) has influenced someone's actions that led you to the money.
With lottery numbers, influencing the mind of someone is useless as the numbers are (generally) picked by a machine in some manner or another.
You might try to get the sigil/spirit/seal/talisman/etc. to effect the outcome of the lottery. In this way you would program your sigil to make the lottery balls (or machine) pick a specific set of numbers. E.g. the lotter is for five numbers where you are at. You pick 1-2-3-4-5. You then put energy into the sigil to make the outcome of the lottery match 1-2-3-4-5. Sounds easy enough, but here is the catch. If the lottery is a popular one than you might expect five or ten million other people to be playing the same lottery. They too are pushing energy out into the world, even subconciously, with the intent of their numbers winning. Now your magick, or will, must be greater than the combined will of over five million people.
Before moving on to divination we must first look at what the odds are at winning the lottery. If we are betting on a five number lottery, there will be a total of fifty numbers to choose from. (0-9 in five slots) www.lottogenie.com calculates the odds at 1 in 2,118,760. If the lottery had six slots, the odds jump to about 50 million. Not all lotteries are ran the way that I just described so I took a gander at
this site. The US powerball's odds are about 1 in 80 million, but one could say with confidence that a rough average for the odds at a state lottery are around 1 in 14 million according to that site so we will run with that. If I sit in my temple and meditate on Enki, expecting to divine a word of power, the odds of receiving whatever name I receive might be somewhere around 1 in 200 (a very rough estimate.) This would be because I am a Magickian who is familiar with Sumerian words, so any word that I divine would relate to that. Lottery numbers on the other hand are completly random (as I would not expect to hear Enki give me giberish, thus not totally random.) This is not to say that divination would not help with getting good lottery numbers, but you are certainly working against heavy odds.
This is all not to say that it is an impossible feat as Orobas has been known to have some degree of acuracy in the matter, but I would certainly not give my hopes up when you are not named the winner of a 20 million dollar check next week.
