A friend and I like to hang out at cemetaries to feel the various energies and what not.

Well, we ran across this really old one, actually it was 2 cemetaries seperated only by about a 10 foot wide strip of grass.

One of them was a Catholic Cemetary, and the other was a Methodist Cemetary. Each one had a seperate gate, though you could walk from one to another inside the cemetary.

Anyhow, we entered on the Catholic side, I didnt notice anything odd. Then, I shifted consciousness a bit and blamo. The posts that mark the entrance gate had guardians. I was flabbergasted. I couldn't actually see them, but I could see the energies radiating from the cement blocks upon which they sat. I'd never seen anything like that at a cemetary before. We decided to see just what they were about so we walked across the barrier from cemetary to street. Once in the center I stopped. I wanted them to know that I knew they were there, I wanted to acknowledge their presence.

For someone that didn't have my shielding abilities, I might have been a bit worried as the affects from doing so could have been very traumatic for some. It was as if they were trying to attack the shield I have up at all times. There was a distinct pressure not only on my head, but also on my chest as if being crushed.

It's a good thing I shield naturally and always have , because if this would have continued without me knowing what was going on, the consequences could have been dire the way things were going. I seldom have to strengthen my shield, well this was one time in which I had to do so. As soon as I did the pressure let up but did not halt.

We decided to try the other gate on the Methodist side of the cemetary. Nothing. It was totally dead. We walked back to the Catholic side and they little buggers tried again...

We decided to leave, after getting into a discussion about the many cemetaries that we'd been to and seen and felt nothing of the sort before. So we headed off to the car and a sense of being followed as well as the feeling of pressure continued. It lasted for 5 minutes while we were driving away and we commented on it to eachother. Then it was simply gone. No lessening, just gone.

Needless to say it was the oddest cemetary experience that I've had in the numerous years that I've been hanging out at cemetaries. I usually go to relax and think, as well as observe. Usually, there are much different energies associated with some of the specific residents at some cemetaries. Ive never noticed guardians before. This was an entirely new experience for me and my cemetary dwelling habits.

One thing I should say is that we didn't bother trying to actually communicate with them. We just let them do their thing, as we did ours.

Have any of you noticed things like this before? Are they there from the consecration of the cemetary as guardians? Or did they just choose to be there and guard it? I suppose it could have been a combination of both. What are some of your cemetary experiences?

I have always been drawn to cemetaries. As a small child of about 4 or 5 I used to ask my mother to take me to them so that I could look at the gravestones!!!

I find them oddly calming, not at all lonely or isolated. Not sure how I feel about the spells that involve graveyard dirt but then I've never been in a situation where I've needed to do that sort of spell.

Having said that personally I don't want to be buried I want to be cremated so I will never actually be laid to rest in one anyway.

To be honest, before i got into magic ( like a month ago ) i was afraid of cemetaries, i thinked that there were monsters there, and spirits, thing like that, i only went to them when a family member dies, but now i am not afraid, the problem is, there is none where i live, well there is, but it's very far away (IMG:style_emoticons/default/13.gif) i would like to know the feeling of being into them! i spent 20 minutes whatching theses storys, their awesome!

Not far from my home in the boonies is a Black Madonna shrine. Beautiful place with ornately designed alcoves and stations of the cross decorated with stone, shells, glass, and numerous other things. The area is divided into two sections, the main area with the various shrines to Mary and the stations and a section with a Seminary, an additional shrine, and a cemetary. A few times in the recent past I have visited this place (always at night) and each time I was at the seminary/cemetary section the visit was coupled with a strange occurrence. The first visit I was with my friends J and S. S was the only person who also was with me at each of the various visits. I remember that when we first approached the altar I thought about how often so many people in distress would come to pray at this site. I mentioned this to my friends and wondered whether the shrines were naturally designed to handle the residual negative energy, or if it lingered. Neither J nor S had a conclusive answer. Later we went to the cemetary area and sat on a bench for a while, all feeling extremely dreamy and surreal. As we later walked through the cemetary all three of us noticed a sudden and temporary feeling of heat in a localized area, and we could not determine any external source for this heat. The second time I returned I was with S and another friend I. S and myself had asked I (he being an experienced magician) if he had any ideas what might have been responsible for the heat, to which he proposed the possibility of there being an incubus there. This was due to the heat there, as opposed to ghosts seeming to produce cold areas, and our feelings of dreaminess-since incubi and other parasitic energy draining spirits tend to create dream-like fantasy states. He felt that perhaps it was attracted to one of the priests (alive or dead) who resided there, due to their high reserve of spiritual energy. Either way, the night with S and I we first visited the shrine area enjoying the beautiful scenery before making our way to the other area. When we did, however, we did not linger because I (friend) immediately felt as though we were being watched and said he saw a face in the window of the seminary staring at us, that neither S nor myself saw. My third experience involved S and another mutual friend A (another neo-pagan). When we approached the shrine we at first took no notice of what was lying there. S decided to play around the small, cave-like tunnel at the back of the shrine. She later told us that as she did this she kept getting dark and violent images appear in her head. As S was doing this, A and I took a closer look at the shrine and noticed that there was broken glass and wax about from shattered candles. I then looked down at the foot of the alter and saw a completely burnt book. I wasn't sure what the book was but it was large and may have been a Bible. Both me and A then got a creepy vibe and went for S. We then looked at the moon which had a strange cloud on it that looked like a scratch across it. At this point we high-tailed it out of there. Now the broken candles and burnt book (to me) seem like nickel-and-dime backwoods kids playin' Satan worshippers. However, coupled with the other phenomena, I have come to an impasse as to what exactly is going on there, but whatever it is it seems malevolent. If any of you guys have any ideas on what might be at the center of these strange events, I'd like to hear them.
