Hi!
I've been reading a bit in the book of enoch, and I found Azazel very interesting.
So the question is, does anyone know something else about him? Except from what's written in the book of enoch?

Azazel is known to demonologers to be the chief of Se'irim (goat-demons).

"Azazel" is said to have come from "azaz" and "el" meaning "strong one of God." It has been said that he has been somehow influenced by the Egyptian God "Seth", but im skeptical about that.

Some Satanists view Azazel as "Satan", instead of viewing Lucifer as "Satan"; this is because Azazel (in many myths) was said to be the one revealing the heavenly secrets which mankind was not supposed to know. I think this is also what the Book of Enoch says, though im not sure.

In the Apocalypse of Abraham Azazel has been viewed a bit differently. He was once again defiled and punished for his wrong doings (sharing forbidden knowledge).

Also, Azazel (to many, and according to many myths I do not recall), was said to be the serpent in the garden of Eden which tempted Eve to bite the apple from the tree of "knowledge"(clue). Note that Lucifer and Leviathan have also been the "serpent" in many other myths, so we're not exactly too sure.

Note that in almost any myth Azazel has been known to give out the forbiddon secrets and knowledge to human beings. From what I know, and from the people of which have had experience with this spirit... I believe that he is one of the greatest "teachers", and is hated and frowned upon for the very reason of teaching human beings the knowledge which is said to be either "forbidden" by many religions or "Sacred" by others.

I've never worked with this spirit, but have spoken to some people who have, and their claims state that Azazel has been the greatest helper and teacher/mentor.

My views on Azazel:

I view him as a Dark God who is a mentor to mankind and a great ally of ours.
