As most of you seem to agree, there really is no basis to the idea of Freemasons as a satanic sect (in the traditional Christian sense of satanic). This stems from public paranoia regarding secrecy, the idea that things that happen behind closed doors are sinister and therefore must be satanic. Another element fueling this idea is the hypothetical Templar-Freemason lineage (which I personally do not believe). The principle accusation of the Templars was that they worshiped a head by the name of Baphomet, the facts behind this are confusing as interpretations of Baphomet range from a goat head associated with Satan to the head of John the Baptist. Of course, the mainstream has associated Baphomet with the devil (misunderstanding Eliphas Levi’s drawing) and this stigma has carried over to most if not all secret societies since symbolic parallels can always be drawn back to the Templars.
BTW, very informative article Enochian.
