Greetings! Though this is a thread about ancient places we have touched upon 'mudra' here and I wish to clarify something that I had posted earlier...
Mudra are hand positionings which apply a meditational symbolism with the flow of energy meridians as KiwiKid has stated. It is likened to 'talking with ones hands'.
Using mudra whilst employing magic gives us the image of gesticulations with either word or intent (or both). Everywhere you are you are surrounded by astral substance, 'astral light' as it were.... when we use mudra and cause our personal energies to flow in a specific way it affects the astral light around you. Your hand mudras may also be applied to body movements to affect similar reactions in both body and environment. Many martial arts employ such movements. Western magic employs similar movements as in The Rending of the Veil, Osiris Slain, etc. This is what I was driving at. I hope that it may clear any confusion that I caused by haste.
