Results Never Quite What You Expect?, Bad luck? Options

I have heard a few stories about the Necronomicon causing bad luck. Does anybody have any stories like this? Mabey it is because the spirits in the book are not liked by other spirits, like the spirits of the goetia? I noticed that on Amazon they can be as cheap as $2...

I asked one of the 50 names to help with a drinking problem I had. Right after that every time I drank or anyone around me drank (I mean everytime) something really really bad would happen. I had to counter the spell since that was not my idea of "helping" me kick the addiction. I also used one to help with an argument II was having with a girl, we were having very vicious arguments for a while, then we civilly agreed to disagree, and haven't spoken since (not what I was expecting at all).

I halted my work with the Nec after only a few incidents, I don't jive well with the paradigm, i think, but I have found by and large that when working through spirits, rather than directly, things have a tendency to work out better the way they happen, when they happen like you didn't expect.

I to have halted, because of the experiences I have had with the sorcery of the book and the whole gatewalking initiation process (the experience I had with the gates makes me question the intent of the system).
