I wanted to mention to everyone on this forum that the tarot is a very strong and potent magical iteam. I find that they are excelent symbols in spell work. The more familiar you are with them the better. Since the Tarot can be a map of conciousness, it is exelent in aiding with visualizations and planning how your spell will play out. Also overtime i feel strongly that the Tarot have generated enough energy to act as inteligent entities when called. Such as an evokation of the King of swords, or whathave you.
I find the Tarot to be a very useful tool, before and during a ritual working. However, one thing I've discovered is that the I Ching can be a far better divination tool in general. The Golden Dawn attributions to the Tarot have their own perfection, but using them requires procuring a Golden Dawn tarot pack, which can be hard to do, mostly just because the publisher's pick up the packs and drop them quite frequently because of lack of sales.
Other attributions to the Tarot require extensive work to understand, because everything has become so saturated with the Golden Dawn. The Marseilles Tarot I was unhappily complaining about not being able to receive works on a French attribution system that preceded the Golden Dawn, and it's different enough to make a significant difference in divination and ritual work.
Not to go on too long, but there are also significant things one can do by pairing different kinds of divination tools with one another. Someday I need to look at Crowley's reading of the I Ching.
