Hey, salutations from the dirt basin of WA state. I just found this site, seems very interesting. I've always been interested in matters of the occult. People tell me I have an affinity for magic of all sorts, too, so I feel like I might fit in here pretty well.

I'm 21, married, male, I have my own home, and I'm here to further my own knowledge and experiences. I believe everything we know comes from within, and therefore I have to expand my knowledge and understanding of self to learn anything new. My wife gets sick whenever I work my will around her, which is peculiar to say the least, so I have to do it in the shed. But that's okay, because I rather like the peace. It also makes really neat spooky sounds when it's windy. My interests pertaining to magic are mainly rooted in Gnostic beliefs, but they center around summoning, protection spheres, and time manipulation (this one I haven't gotten yet, but someday maybe).

And that's all she wrote. I'm really a pretty boring guy when you get down to it. But I love to talk.

Look forward to being in the community with you fine people.

Edit: this is quite interesting, after doing some preliminary reading, it seems I would be considered a Chaos Magician. That intrigues me... I've long thought that everything magic that is successful, is charged with a specific energy, that of several people performing the ritual and it working for them. So every kind of ritual that didn't strike me as total bunk I've thought was credible at all and have tried, has worked. Norse, Icelandic, Italian, Germanic, South American... All pantheons seem to answer the call of a magician. So does any kind of sorcery piling together an amalgam of concepts. As to why, my thoughts on this come back to my quasi-Gnostic beliefs. I'm a very opinionated person, aren't I? Hehe.. Well, you live and learn. Already I've learned something, and already I like this place.

Oh, I'm quite aware of how time will eventually catch up to me. To "cool it down", so to speak, I concentrate on a temporal bubble that I apply to my immediate space. This bubble allows it not to hit me very hard when I'm done working my will on the stream... It still hits me, granted, but not nearly as hard. Tends to beat up and wear down some of the things I take with me. Clothes, personal effects, etc.

Also, no, the death thing relates to how a fraction of my soul has always been "on the other side", and thus, I greatly enjoy necromancy and the study of the death element. It soothes me. Something about feeling that part of me that I've long lost still with me in an ethereal form is very calming, as though I am shrouded by a mist of reassurance that what I've lost will be waiting for me someday. Also the backbone of my theory (and mine alone, please don't think I'm forcing it on you) that death is the ultimate realization of life, and is an art all its own. A sort of Renaissance for living. People remember you strongest when you're gone, and your will truly works its will in amazing ways when you are no longer here.

I've segued into something completely unrelated. My apologies - I get carried away by my thoughts.

Thank you for the reply, and inquiry. It's interesting to note the amount of people that care enough for my safety to warn me of the possible ramifications of what I practice.
