Greetings benrachor, I have found Traditionally that when someone is a member of a Magickal Order the Color of the Robe depends on the Grade the Initiate has reached within the Order. For instance; The Outer Order of the Golden Dawn wears a Black Tau Robe, while the Inner Order ofthe Golden Dawn, or more correctly the R.R. et A.C. wears a White Robe. Then of course you have the Robes of the Officers, being Colors significant unto their Station.
