From my long hours spent modifying photos for fun, I'd say that one was a fake... but only just (it's a very good one). The easiest tell-tale is where the spirit meets the rail. It's fudged.
There's another slightly less obvious tell-tale, which one could only notice if one really thought hard about it. The background's black and white (not to mention that it's been slightly desaturated). The foreground's in colour. If that was a photo, it wouldn't be possible - even at night, there'd be a little bit of colour in the background, and there definitely wouldn't be gray leaves. In fact, you'd be able to see a whole lot less in the background than you currently can, mainly because the colours would either stand out or look very close to black.
Pity.
--------------------
The value of an individual is not numerically assignable. Given the individual's infinite capacity to affect change (for better or for worse), it follows that their value is just as infinite. Logically then, not only are all individuals of equal value, but all possible combinations and groupings of individuals are of equal value, and finally, no matter an individual's past actions, their capacity to affect positive change is not diminished.
The value of the individual is sacrosanct, but actions must be directed in an effort to affect positive change.
