Getting Started WIth Necronomicon, Question and Answers / Ask here

Mage Posts: 214 Age: N/A Gender: Male Reputation: 2 pts	Does the paradigm revealed through the Necronomicon offer one a "path" for a practitioner to walk that is akin to pursuring *The Great Work*? If so: What is it? What is happens to a practitioner while engaging it? What is the results from a practitioner completing it? I ask that question (and the collaries) because I suspect that more exists with regard to dealing with the various Powers referenced in that book - beyond merely calling up Elder Gods and other sundry entities for the sake of satisfying mundane desires.

Zelator Posts: 190 Age: N/A Gender: Male Reputation: 3 pts	If I may be so bold. I hate to ask it but have you acquired the book either through the SM website or your local bookstore? If you have it read it. It lists all the tools you'll need. Now you can also wing it too. But that could prove dangerous. Please understand. I'm not trying to be rude, just helpful. There are 2 main methods you can utilize the system that I know of. 1) the Ceremonial Magician 2) the Priest of Enki or which ever Necronomicom deity you serve(there are many). If you choose to follow the system via method 1) then use what the book gives you and if you want to follow it from a chaos magician perspective then you need to be cautious but you have more freedom and can adapt the methods within the texts anyway you feel is necessary. Just be aware and know what your doing. Many have had no results, or results that go way beyond what they've asked for good and bad. If you choose method 2) The book can help you too, and there are even groups that can help you out as well. But as a Priest or Priestess expect to think outside the box( after all you'll be dealing with Ancient Deities that may need updated rituals to reflect the times). That is NOT a bad thing so long as your follow the wishes of your patron God or Goddess. Also if you choose method 2) there are other resources on the web as well as the Necronomicom itself that can help you connect with which ever Divine force you wish to connect with. Also whenever your in doubt ask. After all there is no such thing as a stupid question. Good Luck on your journey. gmcbroom
