Ah I found it. Heres an excerpt from an article describing the kind of sensory hallucinations i have.
QUOTE
Occipital cortical discharges can generate elementary visual hallucinations such as light spots, twirling objects, and geometrical figures. Etiology may include, traumatic cortical scars, post-concussion syndrome, neoplasms, infarctions, vascular malformations, lupus erythematous, degenerative, vasculitic lesions, or metabolic insult.
http://www.priory.com/halluc.htmI also did have a head injury six months ago and had a weird concussion after effect (I got a strong chemical rotten egg smell and nearly fainted for no reason) so what you said would make a whole load of sense only problem is I had these hallucinations before having the head injury. Ive had loads of head injuries throughout my life though also I have a huge dent in the back of my head since birth and the occiput is in the back of the head.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entoptic_phenomenonI obviously have this occipital discharge thing. Weird you mentioned epilepsy because from what i gather occipital discharges are linked to it but im 100% sure im not epileptic. Ive stood in front of strobe lights many a time.
