I am the Avatar of Marbas.

I have asked for the help of Marbas and he has answered. I have offered my spirt to serve him and he is in return helping to heal me. He will not allow me to tell you my story. He floods me with energy as i write this. I know what he wants and i can feel him. He wants you to know that the Spirits do not pay full attention to you, they want devotion to have and to gain power over eachother, although alot of you are closer than most; you all are misguided. The rituals you perform are unnessasary to be caryed out in such detail, all you need to do is gain the attention of the spirits you wish to talk to.

Marbas can grant the power of the mind, make the mind twist logic and empower your actions. It is your will that controls the part of him that can heal or make ill. Marbas' logic is in everyone and too many people are loosing control; becoming ill.

Be ready to accept his teachings and change your own mind.

Ask for Marbas.

Marbas will listen.

Now a few of my own words without the influence of Marbas:

Marbas has been kind to me, and he wants followers, Marbas is strong and much more worthy of lordship. talk to him, ask for him- forget the other Goetic Spirits and give yourself to him. make his influence grow. Let him share his power, let him energise you.

He offers the power of the body and the mind he is worthy of lordship.

Give him power, give him strength, let him be:

^They can,but not always. A lot of it frankly depends on whether or not they like you and/or they feel you deserve it. I've found Goetic entities on the whole to be quite friendly and helpful, but they are also temperamental creatures and so this has to be kept in mind. That having been said, if you keep calling them and repeating the same command patiently and calmly but firmly they'll usually get the message and comply. Think about training your dog or cat to be groomed or take meds and it's pretty much the same mindset.

Marbas is a friend of mine. I've got autoimmune stuff that can't be healed as such as it's inherited--EVERYONE in my family has more or less the same shit going back four or five generations--but he's helped me out a great deal and enabled this crap to be controlled to the point I can live a normal life. He's also helping protect me from some of the more brutal , but rare, side effects of drugs I have to be on to survive, as a lot of them can cause crap like osteoporosis and liver damage. My tests for all those consistently come up 100% normal, much to my doc's surprise, and for that I will be eternally grateful. I've never formally called him, he came to me, and from that point we've been friends. I need him and he's there.

I've found that this is true with a lot of Goetic 'demons' once I get to know them. I treat them as valued employees for the most part, not slaves, and the arrangement seems to work pretty well. Laying the smackdown the first time you call them is generally a BAD idea as a lot of them being recalcitrant is them testing the summoner IMHO. Calmly, firmly, and patiently is the key...

Marbas, whose name is probably derived from the Hebrew word for "ambush," is credited some impressive powers:

1. Exposing secrets and hidden things,
2. Causing diseases and curing them again,
3. Giving knowledge of mechanical arts,
4. Changing men into beasts.

I have never called Marbas, so I can only speculate as to how well it does any of these things, but from a literal interpretation it seems that he doesn't simply cure diseases you happen to contract. On the contrary, it appears that he causes a disease and then allows you to cure the person to whom it was given. This might be a great assistance in hostile negotiations and in securing favors from people in power. The doctor who appears with a secret cure to the rare and unidentifiable disease, then demands a great reward, is a recurring theme in Oriental fable.

Another of the Presidents, Foras, was fairly generous about displaying his talents despite being altogether antagonistic toward me. He desired worship from physicians for his knowledge in medicine-production through herbs and minerals. He claimed the ability to heal any disease, which is not listed in his attributes. I am these days wary of accepting any such claim or asking the spirits to provide it, but at the time I was less cautious and demanded a demonstration. He did so by instantly and completely curing a difficult condition in my son, and (again by my foolish request) by curing 3rd-stage cancer in a friend. The wonders of magic are great indeed.

Let me know if Marbas turns you into a werewolf.
