Party animals It is December now and as 2004 comes to a close, a group of us are pleased to be invited to a housewarming party with mulled wine and other goodies. Soon the house begins to fill with people who are strangers to us, most of the guests are from the world of television and are eagerly discussing filming and latest productions; feeling rather alienated from their world, we sit with another guest who we have more in common with and soon I become engrossed in a conversation about pets and their little peculiarities, whilst my daughter goes off for more drinks - I am on the lemonade and taking it slowly.
During the course of the evening, I look across to my dragon and ask if he is OK; he suddenly lunges at a girl sat behind me as if she is my enemy. I am surprised by this as I have not been introduced to the girl and in fact have barely noticed her arrival. Shortly after this, my daughter explains to me that she has accidentally spilt her drink onto the girl’s shoes and said girl is now bitching and complaining to her crowd about the incident; I realize that it is the girl that my dragon is so angry with and marvel at his abilities in non-intrusive fidelity.
