Hey everyone. After some thought, there was a realization that others out there too, may be experiencing the same soul-loss/disconnection phenomenon from magick that I am. So, I wanted to start a thread in the B.M.S. Board so that we all can pool together our strategies. Community, folks! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Anyhow, not all strategies work for everyone. So, with this in mind, this thread would serve as a pool of ideas that one could pick and choose whatever strategy (or plural) is/are applicable, and then get themselves out of a rut.

In the case one becomes desensitized to the greater power of the universe, and/or feels disconnected, what are some general things/excercises to resensitize their sense of aliveness within magick, general empathy to energies, and sense of stability? Another question to consider: Is it sometimes an issue of external, not just internal turmoil?

All discussion appreciated!

Sometimes beginners (or even intermediates!) can trip, fall, and get back up without acknowledging their bones are broken. Even then, the wounds must still be mended no matter how stoic one chooses to be. This is the spirit of the philosophy behind this thread!

Enjoy, folks.

I think I know the kind of issue you're talking about, but without a little more description i can't be totally sure. However, I have found that sometimes when I am on a 'magickal roll' as it were, doing magick every day basically and spending more time in my ritual state than my normal state, when i come out of it I find that I seem to be floating in a way, and very disconnected from the world in general. Like I've dug down into myself so far that it's hard to climb back out. Is this the sort of thing you're talking about?

IN any case, I deal with it by taking a day off, going to the park, making an effort to enjoy the details of being alive. I pay more attention to my five physical senses than the others, and relish the pleasure and pain they bring me. It always grounds me and connects me to the material plane. I go back to magick then with a sense of connection to the world that also brings my magick to life in a different way, sensitizing me to the physical movements of the energy, as opposed to just the higher astral movements.

Not sure if that helps towards the point, if you could explain in a more first person perspective kind of way, maybe it would clarify.

peace
