Basically its a technology that supposedly synchronizes the brain in a way that allows it to be healthy and function more properly. This in turn supposedly helps the brain to come to altered states of mind, not specifically astral projection though. More like meditation or hypnosis or a state of hyper-realism. A person could learn to use this device for astral projection in theory. But im my opinion such devices are more like crutches that act as a short cut. While it might be nice to try a few times I wouldn't get comfortable with it with already having proper knowledge to AP with out it.

Also I'd try before you buy. Sometimes such devices are little more than buzzing machines attached to the head that work on the principle of simply densensitizing the mind and therefore causes it to go into an "alter state". On very few people this can even cause seizures. So if you have epilepsy or are prone to seizures I'd try something else. I don't generally give much credit to these kinds of machines. Then again I've never used one either.
