I wasn't aware that one needed healing after engaging entities in the astral. Are you sure about this? I've been through many fights on the astral plane, and the most that would happen to me is I would wake up tired if it was a particularly grueling or long fight.
THen it's possible you were imagining it. A real astral battle, feels every bit as real as a real fight with a deadly opponent, and leaves the same feeling that one needs to rebalance and breathe.
An effective psychic attack will cause you to be moody, experience anger, paranoia, or other such negative emotions that typically arise out of a lack of energy in some particular regard. Typically one or more chakra centers are damaged during such encounters. If damage isn't dealt with - or evens itself out due to your environment - within three days, you may begin to develop physical ailments depending on what the damage is.
Three days is the amount of time it takes for the body to react to serious changes in the energy system by either getting better or worse. Feeling more or less physically energetic doesn't count, as that's an issue of efficient body chemistry, while it's the long term changes in that efficiency that trigger various problems or solutions in the body.
I have known lots of people who thought that having an astral 'battle' was no biggie, or that they had some kind of godlike strength in their astral body because they could easily dispatch any energy, entity, or attacker without suffering any harm or fatigue at all - typically those people are under attack constantly, especially when other people are observing, and take to the astral every night for long and arduous campaigns against the armies of darkenss. Heck, I used to be like that, when I was 13. And then I started doing real magick, and met my first entity who was really there, and really wanted to harm me.
Think about staring down the barrel of a gun, someone is telling you they are going to shoot you, and they are serious. You may think that not a hint of fear would creep into your heart, because you're a badass, but you're wrong. If you've ever been in that situation, you know what I'm talking about. Just because you're confident you'll live, doesn't mean you aren't scared. You'd be wired wrong if you weren't.
That physical action represents an energetic exchange. If you could act on the energetic level with real effectiveness, you could turn the tables and despite the situation, that attacker would be terrified to shoot you.
That's what real psychic attack is like. It's an ATTACK. Now, if you're shielded, then you'll probably be fine - but very few people really understand what it means to be shielded, and most people don't have the control over their energy to effectively do it.
Recovering from psychic attack is relatively easy depending on your situation. If you have lots of friends and family that love you, go spend time with them, you can talk about how you're feeling without talking about why you feel that way. Or, you can go do some yoga at a good studio with good energy. You can do it manually if you're capable, just start at the crown and work your way down rebalancing and repairing each center as you go. Various aura ailments will fix themselves as you fix the primary and secondary centers (the primary at the major 7 chakras, the secondary are located on your joints). You can summon a healing entity to heal you, if you're already familiar with one (obviously you're in no shape to gamble with an entity you don't know). You can make an energetic bath with the proper herbs, oils, and salts, and soak in it for a while.
Take psychic attack seriously. It's not a game you play on the astral plane. It happens all the time in everyday life, and it's a large part of the basis of how we navigate the complicated network of people. Most psychic attacks are short and subtle, and we go on our way, never realizing that we've been diminished in some way. Most people will never experience a full on psychic onslaught - complete with fever, dizziness, terror, loss of vision, physical weakness and finally unconsciousness - because so few people know how to bring one to bear, and even fewer people have enemies that care that much, or would think along those lines. But don't you forget that even having people in the world who hate you means you're under psychic attack in the most rudimentary and subtle way.
