I'm confused, I thought the SIM card and the SD card were different? Or are they just micro SD's now?
No, your right, their different. The Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) is what the phone company uses to track and log call duration for billing. It can also store your phone books, call logs and- what is important here- data files. The prevalence of card based data storage, and lack of any standard format has lead to computer manufactures clustering the many "readers" in to multi-card readers installed on desktops. I made a mistake in my last post when I said that most computers can take SIM cards, I should have said "read SIM cards." The SIM card is not read traditionally and needs an adapter to fit in the SD or USB slots- which is not standard. In light of this RecOnPhone is more practical or again the mic trick.
