I started having those feelings a few years ago, and the suggestions I gave are what I was given from my guide regarding the experience. So, they may be specific to my particular temperament but it may be a good place to start. As far as their use in ritual work, they are a side effect of the expansion of consciousness, which can happen because of ritual work or any number of other things, including a karmic 'trigger' of some sort carrying over from a past life, or reflected back from a future life, depending on your point of view of reincarnation and karma. Traumatic experiences, blessing by a spiritual master, it's a long list. Easier to look at it in simple terms of acceptance - it's happening, let me explore it and experience it. I wouldn't worry about ritual uses. As one's consciousness expands, and as spiritual consciousness comes into contact with material consciousness, it isn't so much about using as following. It's more of a mystical experience than a magical one. Explore mystical philosophies a little, you may be interested in what you find. There was a saying by someone, "We all become mystics in the end." Magic is driven largely by material consciousness, to accomplish things, etc. Mysticism is driven by spiritual consciousness, the desire to approach God, the Force, whatever, and rests on acceptance, understanding, and submission to that higher will (ultimately your higher will.) If you give into it fully, ritual practice may not matter. Or, you may go back and forth. Just focus on the experience itself and see where it takes you. For now, I don't try to figure out how to use it, if there is a use for it, that will become self-evident over time.

The world is complicated - that which makes it up is elegantly simplistic, but infinitely versatile.
