Just did the Middle Pillar for the first time; a little messy, as I certainly am nowhere close to having it fully memorised yet, of course.

I definitely felt something, though; a strong pull to the left/south that almost made me fall over. Doesn't necessarily make much sense...I don't see myself as being excessively merciful. I can be a real prick online at times. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/13.gif)

Anyone else had anything weird while doing the MP?

It may still be a little advanced for just beginning the MP ritual, but take a look at psyche.com for an interpretation of the cube of space. Keeping in mind that your left side is the 'magnetic' lateral pole. The cube of space is the 3-dimensional existential aspect of the Tree of life, which is the 2-dimensional representation so configured because of the metaphysical connections between the sephiroth, which establish, in the cube of space, the dimensions of up down, left right, forwards backward, beginning and ending (time), towards Manifestation and towards Origin (spiritual dimension).

each of the spatial directions in the cube of space set up has a more specific relationship to an individual sephiroth, specifically in the Yetziratic sphere - having felt the sensation of being pulled in one direction or another, sometimes down into the earth, sometimes up, sometimes forwards or backwards, I have come to believe that this pulling represents the 'tug' of your own spiritual body on the associated sephirot in a maneuver to pull more of that energy in to attain balance. Ideally, the result of the middle pillar is to pull from 'the center' - i.e. Tiphareth - in order to ultimately balance one's 'trajectory' on the spiritual vector.

The cube of space schemata doesn't change the practice of the MP ritual - but it does shed some light on it's meaning, the various things/feelings that can occur, etc.

Congrats on beginning this practice. It is, in my opinion, the most essential and profound practice of GD Hermeticism. More so than LBRP or any other, it's versatility and effect on the spiritual body is inexhaustible so far as I have seen.

peace
