turn off the tv (mind control) and pick up a xbox 360 (expanding the mind)
required play: (almost all are mature games with realistic gore and violence - i don't know what is on the ps3 as i develop on 360) bioshock (plasmids are the visualization of psionics, will and determination, entropy) mass effect (exopolitics/extraterrestrial entities, duty and mentalism) blacksite (introduction to odd mixtures of creatures, and true evil and true forgiveness) jumper (crappy game based on the movie, but 'jumping' as teleportation visualization) legendary (introduction to legendary creatures and interacting with them - too bad you have to kill them)
breakthroughs: being able to visualize things and succeed much easier because you already have an image in your head blurring the line between reality and fantasy, and life and death, and fiction and non-fiction finally seeing re-spawning as reincarnation re-wiring of the brain by repeatedly imprinting images on the subconscious finding that death and killing in the game is just as real as deathand killing in reality remembering past life experiences to avoid the same problem this time destruction of the ego by getting your ass kicked repeatedly by my and other's variable-rich ai constructs growing patience by grinding through a hardcore level multiple times until you make it (my current lessoning in farcry2) recognising that dark is the other side of light, and by combining dark with light you become whole again
lately i'm recognising the 'eternal soul'/hga/'higher self'/etc as you operating your character, like the soul is not in the body, the body is merely the physically pseudo-podded portion of the soul (a'la the seven woods as fragments of the sacred tree), and acceptance of the soul intentionally creates a 'split mind' existence - we can connect momentarily to the wholeness of our real existence (resolving the split/crossing the abyss, but it fades since we are on something resembling dial-up, and what we need is dsl (a chemical, like maybe dmt?))
