For "Solomon" substitute the author, who identifies himself as Antonio. He claims to have worked this system for 67 years, so presumably this agreement took place early in his career. To be told the spirit will come get you at age 117 is not much of a threat.
Note the time changes. The spirit gives only slight modifications that make it a little harder to maintain the schedule, increasing the chance that the magician will miss the opportunity and fail in the obligation. Though the spirit initially offers a fixed term of 50 years, the final deal is one that might last only a single month if it should occur that the magician fails to give his tithe.
Note also that the magician asks the spirit to pledge its oath only for "this present book" which is given the spirit's mark, whereas the spirit alters the deal to include anyone who uses the same conjuring format. By giving treasure back, the magician is creating another treasure for these later magicians to discover. the spirit is using the magician to reach a wider audience, cheating everyone involved with the semblance of genuine revelation.
The spirit encourages charity, which is at a glance inappropriate. By keeping a close contact with the magician, as counselor, the spirit is hoping to persuade the magician to sponsor those among the poor that it will also manipulate to its own advantage.
The word "Rofocale" is merely the name given here, whereas the magician initially addresses it as Lucifuge, and elsewhere the same spirit appears under other names.
The preamble of names that constitute the invocation of this spirit's superior (Lucifer) appears in a similar form in earlier works like Grimoirium Verum. This Red Dragon book is likely an adaptation created by a student of that book or of its author, and since many of the mistakes in spelling appear to be phonetic renderings it is possible the names were acquired from dictation.
I knew a man who used this book to obtain and manage a Pentecostal church, having bound Nebiros in a manner like this, exchanging the offices of the superior spirits and other relevant names in the pact to match his purpose. Unfortunately he wrote them in ink in his copy of the book, which I now have. Apparently he uses the pact to produce "prophecies" and other forms of "spiritual warfare" under the guise of Christianity.
Hi IA, That is quite a revelation indeed. This "pastor" is using evil to make his church apear "spiritual" I then conclude all the Spiritual warefare is fake play acting on the spirits and his parts. I guess he never heard from God himself, probaly because his heart was not right..I once met a satanists in LA that said he was the pastor of a large non-denom church. I asked him what was satans purpose with him? he repleied to lead the flock astray and away from the true God.
I wonder if this mans "prophesies" were of the same purpose.
But i'm leaning more towards he wanted to appear to be a "powerful man of God"? can you elaborate on this guy any more?
did he die before you gained possesion of his book? that was a nice breakdown of the pact. Thats why I always say you cannot make a pact with a spirit of that nature and get of "scott free" as it were.
There will always be a hefty price to be paid.
did his church desolve? thanks light and love
