Bascially hoping to tackle the abramelin ritual one day, a few years from now and am planning on adding (fervent) prayer to daily pratice in practice for the operation. Problem is all the torahs and psalms seem to be the badly translated versions, lord in place of various godnames... was wondering where I could find an accurate translation of the psalms...?

Thanks
M

You will have to sleuth the different original sources. The Enuma Elish has the original flood myth. The Song of Solomon (if memory serves me correct) was a song between Inanna and Tummuz. Meta-search and cross reference for the original sources. In the end, the Bible is an amalgam of different legends, slapped with an icing topping, and then served as the birthday cake, labeled, "Happy Birthday, Jesus!"

Good point. Thanks.

Was actually debating this with a christian the other day, the fact that the bible is a compilation of texts and stories from elsewhere, cut and edited to fit in with political views.... is it then "holy" by the actual definition of the word? Same with the koran... the only one that would stand to scruplous testing would be the hebrew origional to which you can apply their entire philosophy to, astrlogical, numerological, QBL'stic and so on.

The bible isn't a holy text at all, nice read but it'll likely drive you mad like a badly written ritual would if you take it too seriously.
