Official Sm Astral Temple!, Open for use! Options

Here in the Coffee Shop back in 2005 a proposal to construct an official Sacred-Magick astral temple was made by Mr_Merlin.

Aside from hosting the occasional curious visitor, the temple has since been seemingly abandoned and unused. In sympathy with fatherjhon, I propose that we change that.

The temple may still be accessed visa-vie its sigil and by the following method as outlined by bym:

Find yourself a spot where you can be alone without fear of disturbance. Make yourself comfortable. If you can, you may burn alittle incense though this is not necessary! Relax, close your eyes. I find that brilliant sun is not conducive to mental traveling...but you must discover what works for you. Imagine (this is the important step) the Temple sigil as clearly as you can. I like to induce a light trance at this stage. A favored method would be to imagine this sigil as something embossed or painted on a big door. Once you have fixed the sigil in your minds eye, then slowly open the door and step through, onto a path in the jungle (or some sort of path). Note your surroundings. Walk down the path until you come to the Temple clearing. You are at the foot of the pyramid. Note wether or not it is night or day, the sky and the surrounding environment. Climb the pyramid steps until you reach the top. Note again your surroundings. You may continue at this point or, what I recommend for beginners, is to turn around and go back...the way you came...taking time to note your surroundings. go back to the door, step through and CLOSE the door.

Open your eyes, stretch, eat alittle or drink something. Do something totally mundane. Make a log of your journey, try to remember what your minds eye saw and make a note in your journal. If you meet any animals or people whilst journeying, take notes and deal with them on your second journey.

Note: Whilst you are enroute and during this journey, you will be safe from harm though if you wish to pack some protection, go for it. Make close note of any animal that presents itself to you in at least three separate instances/views...they may be a power animal. If you find yourself in a frightening situation or in danger, wake yourself up! This is a form of shamanic journey that is quick and somewhat fool proof. It is a form of mental travel and guided trance pathworking. Happy Trails!

Most Shamanic methods don't involve alot of props and are therefore handy when it comes to strict parents. Journeying is usually accompanied by drum beats and/or rattling. This is not mandatory!

This method may be modified as desired by the operator or abandoned in favor of a personalized ritual means of entry.

Unless there are any major objections, I propose that we schedule a group-meeting this coming Saturday the 11th at 9 p.m. eastern time, which is 8 p.m. central time; 7 p.m. mountain time; and 6 p.m. pacific time. Everyone is welcome to attend! Bring a friend, tell everyone you know!

Let's try and do this once, just to meet and say howdy. Getting into the temple will be enough of a "first ritual" methinks. We can then plan greater workings for the temple in the future.

Interesting stuff, though I'm unsure and frankly don't care as to what the OG intent for the temple was I will say this, if should next time you make a group visit, don't make it a social call have a specific purpose (prayer, ritual for good-health for all-comers, magical knowledge power) this attempt was much too blank. I love a good party but don't waste, and to me a 'getting to know you, getting to know all about you' is a waste for such a inhabitance.

I'm sorry that you find our astral meeting so pointless and laughable. Perhaps you've done a lot of work in the astral, in which case-- congratulations! Many people here are just beginning to work with the astral, and I think it is extremely poor taste for you to make these comments when just getting to the temple is a big deal for some of us. I think if you took a little more than the 30 seconds of self-gratifying didactic mockery that you did with this thread, you'd see that this was very clearly stated as the purpose of the meeting to begin with. Shame on you Bb3 for raining on a good, all inclusive parade.

LMAO! watch out Monkman with talk like that I could learn to love you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bigwink.gif) why don't you reread my post with a critical eye, as I'm actually applauding you for your undertaking... Now instead of acting like a spoiled fifteen year old girl who can't have the man she wants why don't you man up grow some magical juevos (or hell, get some magical tetas for all I care) and organize another more guided trip. That way I can forgive you for talking smack behind my back only because I dared to advise your leadership.

Alright, now as Father John has stated eloquently, the beauty of this temple is that you can project to it without a problem, just lie back and go, don't worry about leaving your body, no longer do we live in that age where dreams are the only power. Relax and let go into and let images arrive, another fantastic concept is hit upon, to each choose a symbol to represent yourself, clothing yes clothing, in fact post it in advance so that you will be known! Do not fear for the upkeep for the the temple does like to appear as if it has suffered greatly, don't let it fool you!

You take long breaks my friend. And whats this about the temple fooling me? Do you mean that all the work I've been doing there was not strictly needed?


I like the idea of cloths for identification. I've done a little work with group astral travel before and the hardiest part is getting across more than "here is a vague figure." Cloths are clean universal symbols that amusingly are relatively simple to identify based on how much (or little) they cover and where. Nice thought.

I will call dibs on a white floor length cape to mimic the one I have on this plane.

By the by, about three weeks ago I was in the temple and someone dropped in. Was that one of us from the last group meet?
