I don't think there is anything wrong with using magick to advance your self in the material world. Let me rephrase that: I don't there is anything wrong with using skills to advance your self in the material world.
A good soccer player can get rich of his skills. A master artist can get rich by selling paintings drawn by using his skills. A skilled engineer can get rich by designing complex things.
But a magician should not use his skills to advance himself, to give him that extra edge against the competition?
I worked hard and studied hard to acquire the magical skills i now posses, so why shouldn't i use them. Natural born geniuses are advancing themselves even faster using there intellect. Its like saying to such a genius to go work in a factory at a low pay, because it is unfair to use his skills.
I don't see how it is going against the will of the universe to use magick, if it were then magick would not exist anyway... I think a man should use ALL his skills and abilities when he can. Doing otherwise equals submission and possible defeat.
This has nothing to do with the morality of magick, a genius can use his intellect to become a clever mass murderer or terrorist. Thats beside the point on this one.
