I have a particularly ambitious project in mind.
Last summer, I buried a crystal at a place of power, an ancient ceremonial site that is still cared for and maintained in north georgia... [I]t got me thinking about making a much stronger link by carving seven crystals - six with the same sigil on each of six faces, and a seventh with one face bearing a sigil from each of the others. These I'll carve and then blood. I'd like to take each of the six crystals to places of power across the US and bury them there, making the seventh into a kind of link/receptacle through which those energies can be accessed.
However, finding a decent list of them is proving to be kind of difficult. I wonder if anyone has put any significant study into the subject of North American Places of Power, vortexes, etc., and if you'd mind helping me with either links or suggestions. My main difficulty is that although there are some lists of places, there is very little discussion on the actual nature of the places. That is to say, on the tone of the power there.
Well I know of only few which are famous, active, and powerful. If your are looking particularly for maintained sacred places it might be a little hard to find them. Sedona, which has four vortexes is a big miss mash of happenings. The Buddhist temple I work at has a sister site there and I have herd that the Lama considers it highly useful to Buddhist practices and her work that involves manipulation of karma.
Weavers peak in the Superstition mountains has a lot of goofy lore around it, but I can think of few places that have better wood chi - good for Jupiter workings.
There are places in to Pocono mountains where the geological formations have gathered chi in one place for as long as anyone would care to postulate. I do not know where they are but it might be a help to know they exist.
Mt. Shasta and panther meadows, a smaller vortex in a larger one, have been considered a ‘soft spot’ so to speak, a place where the bounds between planes are not so thick or do not exist. The springs are supposed to be very potent and healing.
Looking glass rock, NC. Used for vision quests for thousands of years.
Wizard island is supposedly an active ceremonial site with very intense but calming power. Said to be a little like a white Tara practice.
Black Hills in SD have many places of power but most are parks now and trampled with tourists. It is also, very yin in nature as indicated by its geography. The chaotic miss mash of rock types, formations and the many protruding spires and round rocks would make this places energy rich in shaqi, bad if you live there yet, very conducive to magick related to big, blow it up and start over type magick and cursing.
Old Man Mountain in rocky mountain national park was and is used for vision quests, but
this article makes references to other uses and even to it being a geniuslocus, which would make it rather unpleasant to work with casually.
That's about all I know of; if you where looking for dragon veins in the US then I would be more help.
