I don't remember a time when anyone in my family had been wealthy, or even above middle-class for, oh, 6 generations. I'm currently pulling myself out of destitution (of the ramen noodles are gourmet meals and city roaches are great neighbors variety), and it's tough work. If I ever reached a point of wealth, I'd go and lend others a hand... the city I live in isn't known for their generosity towards the poor and the homeless.
