Greetings FSF!
I've read the essay and think that you've done a decent job of laying it out. It deals with a subject that most here have thought about any number of times. And then I must also agree with both Athena and ChaosCrowley37. You put forth an interesting idea but need to be able to back yourself with experience to sound convincing. I think that what you say (perhaps that the voice and pictures are being supplied by our subconcious), IMHO, is partially correct. I do believe that we are able to tap into the subconcious...as well as interact with entities outside of the human realm. One of the goals of magic is to become cognizant of ourselve(s) (ie, the Holy Guardian Angel) and bring them into accord. This is also known in other cultures/faiths/practices, etc. as a goal/step towards enlightenment/understanding. This should be, again, IMHO, the primary focus...for if we don't know ourselves then how can we know one another? I fear that I'm failing to articulate my thoughts...KNOW THYSELF!
Vassago has nothing to do with Satan or Satanists, unless they are trying to invoke/evoke it. The Goetic entities are not Satanic in origin. It is of my belief that some are
not anymore. I've never held with the belief that they represent various subconcious facets of our mind. But then, as with alot of Chaos theory, there is something to the idea that the Goetic entities are now
more than they once were, just by people believing in them and trying to e(in)voke them. I do believe in the Collective Unconcious. All this and a buck fifty will get you a cup of coffee (*sigh* remember when it was two bits?).
There is just so much that we need to explore and Magic is but one. I wish you great Adventures! (IMG:
