"Like the dryad, another kind of Faery is the oakman, who is said to live in oak trees. In the North of England, the oakman is a guardian of the animals. The familir saying is "Faery folks are in old oaks." In fact, the oak is considered the tree of the dead and the abode of departed spirits. In her book "The Fairy Caravan," Beatrix Potter describes the oakman as dwarfish folk with red toadstool caps and red noses that live in a thrice-cut copse covered with bluebells."

Hey again, thought that you wouldn't mind if I shared some of my art again. This time it was inspired by a book by Sirona Knight. When reading this passage I had an idea of what the oakman might look like. I little more mischievious and frompy looking. This one makes me smile every time I see it. Anyways, hope you like it.
