The match for the world chess championship got underway today. The match title holder Vladimir Kramnik was able to score a lucky first game victory with the white pieces against challenger Veselin Topalov. Topalov pressed from the start but towards the end of the middle game forsook the opportunity to draw and pressed on with a small advantage. However, one fatal blunder cost Topalov the game. 9/24 will be Topalov's first game with white it starts in about 3 hours from now 7 am et 4 am pt. Usually there are a few top players making some general commentary about the game. Chessbase also has some good analysis of the games that have already happened.
