 Sigil Questions, My attempt and theories on why it failed

Hi, I recently attempted to cast my first sigil, yet it failed. Here is whyy I believe it did, Time constraints, Weather and inexperience.
My questiions are these
1 can you use time constraints?
2 where can I go to delve into the theories and histories of sigils?
3 When I charges it I drew it and looked at it, Why did I not want to stop looking at it?

All help appreciated.
