alright so i am a witch, so really this kind of applies to this forum particularly.

yes yes, i meant to put up a good recipe for turkey day, but Yule works too; theres never a better time to stuff your pagan face:

my mom's turkey soup:

you'll need f*$ ton of cooked turkey (dark and white), a crock pot of boiling water, carrots, an onion (half is fine), beuillon cubes, cream of chicken, and rice.

boil water (or boil the stock that you made overnight), and rip the pieces of breast meat and dark meat into long thin strips and drop them into the water. you decide how much you want. i usually make it about 1/3 of the soup...put the rice in with it (3 cups is more than enough...no more than that). chop and dice the half onion and put it into the soup and put the soup down to medium. put the chicken beuillon cubes in and stir like crazy (cuz sometimes it doesn't disintegrate into the water by itself. pour the cream of chicken, chop the carrot and dump that in and than put the soup to simmer once its turned a rich creamy color. to thicken it up and to add a little flavor add some rosemary, salt, and milk. all in all, the length of time to make this is as long as the onion and carrot take to soften, and the rice to puff to fluffy deliciousness.

voila. its very easy to make a good soup. careful though! its hot.

another thing that i plan to do this season is burn the yule log. i lived with my parents last year, so i didn't get the opportunity to celebrate Yule like i wanted to but tis the season! one idea that i thought i might run past you guys is, how bout recycle your tree to use as a may pole? after all, the tree didn't necessarily want to be cut down but wouldn't it be nice to celebrate its death by making it into a symbol of spring? i think its a swell idea, and its rather phallic any way so any one with any other suggestions are welcome to post!
i did wonder how many of you actually use live trees for the holidays? is it a faux pas for the Wiccan community? i am a solitary practitioner, so i wouldn't really know.

yule ornament ideas: sun as a topper, and planetary ornaments! yes, no? bad idea? i was also thinking little tarot cards would be cute as ornaments.

alright, that js all for the holidays right now, but im big on Celebrations so holler at me, ye wiccans!
