I have not found a single site online that I would recommend about necromancy. In general people just don't want to publically share their experiences and practices with this topic. Due to the fear and missunderstanding of the topic, as well as the dangers of a lot of the work. I can recommend some good books on the topic however... One of my favorites is Greek and Roman Necromancy by Daniel Ogden. This is a VERY good book on the topic, as well as having all of the important points referanced. Forbidden Rites, a Necromancers manual of the fifteenth century by Richard Kiekhefer. The only problem with this book is that a lot of it is in Latin. Still worth the read though for the amount that is in english. If you want a quite different approach to necromancy in the author's very own style, then check out The Necromantic Ritual Book by Leihlah Wendel Another approach is to read the historical records of famous necromancers from old texts. The Greek and Roman Necromancy is a great place to start for referance material. Another helpful area to look into are some of the better books on spirit communication in general, yes most are cheesy and newagey, but there is the odd good one out there. The best area to start with necromancy is to work with your own ancestors. There is a lot of information about working with your ancestors on internet sites as well as books on Vodou and Santaria. Best of luck in your search (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Athena

We happen to have one or two of those books in PDF on the library. Where? where? My deaf astral ears can hear some members here thinking outloud. Go bunny hunting inside the library! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tomato.gif)

Ars Falcis is a pretty good site, thanks (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Way different than what I am used to. I work with the shades myself, and have not looked into (or heard of before) the aspects of working with the death essence itself or the authors ideas on vampirism. And I have to say with Leighlah's books, yeah I don't see any practical purpose to sleeping next to a corpse in the graveyard to connect, or kissing it in the morning! (ewww mold spores!) I did find one or 2 good ideas in her books, but also found a lot of confusing info that held me back from even trying anything necromantic for years. As far as the Coleman book goes, I hear (but I could be wrong) that the Necromancy course on OccultForums is basically the first 3 chapters of that book, so you could just read that in the meantime (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Btw, please educate me, how is Necromancy defined? Some folks say just talking with the dead, well mediums do that.. What all is included in Necromantic practice? Hey I'm still new to this. I have had dead folks follow me around and talk to me for years, but it is only recently that I have started working with them magically. Athena

In Toronto, I sat on a gravestone, and picked up that the dead are more afraid of life than the living are of death... So I treat the dead with kindness and gentleness and dignity... I invite specific ancients to share my vehicle, to again savor Woman's caress and passions... They can't refuse... I breathe 'em in... and on the outbreath I exhale every part of it that could mess with my controls... If by chance that it does attempt to mess with my controls, I eject it, and exterminate it... as in absolutely extinct...
Me thinks if you believe you are inviting the Dead into your projects, and your magical religious games, that you should address the whole Being... And given that you are communicating with it, it would be best that you think of it as life, not death... You'll get better mileage out of it that way...
I sailed through 7 NDE's before I figured that it was a pattern... and how to put the brakes on it... I am working on a method to give the student a synthetic NDE, without the dangers... A cosmic NDE in the mind... Thus the student gets the intellectual and cosmic growth benefits without the risks... And I point them to their sword... Not males though... males generally tend to want to test their new cosmic weaponry on the teacher... usually when the teacher is asleep... It's their loss... the teacher is not a target, nor a toilet... and not their teacher...
Attempts to teach the masses that they have a mind, have been futile, unless it has been 101... which usually means I almost get to, or do, fck a warrior, and or goddess... Every Soul to Soul has resulted in an American entertainment industry deva... Maybe I should market devaship...
I hold the next three schools of thought... I wonder when this Species will be ready for the first one... I've been trying to wake 'em up since 1978... It seems they are content to sleep their way into oblivion, if they don't wake up soon... Do you agree?
To put these lessons in terms the masses can grasp, it must be set harsh enough to get their attention, which generally sends most of them into fetal, and/or a runnin' fer mummy... Maybe a nuke detonating up their ass might wake 'em up, but I can't find that inbetween that wakes 'em, and doesn't frighten them... The two overlap, because of religion's conditionings...
Its seems that necro is a genus or subspecies of Magic... If there is any ceremony in the "spell", then it's religion... If it's direct, to and from with no middleman, then it's Sorcery or Life... I'm seeing claims of "necro sorcery magic"... Isn't that like saying "nuclear stone-ax"...?
If you want a good site on "necromancy"... try looking into yourself..

QUOTE(Chalis @ Apr 3 2005, 07:27 AM) The Necromancy course kinda died in the arse due to Kirk having family issues that needed attending to. I have since been contacted and informed of one copy of that book that became available on Amazon, so I snapped it up. Here's hoping it comes soon. Athena, if you want to PM me, I will be happy to discuss everything I know and think about Necromancy as an art (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Re: "NECROMANCY".... Everything that humans are and can be, is written in DNA's video memories... Necromancy, being the study of the dead, is within your personal grasp, in your DNA's hereditary seed memory... Plus, you have Life, as well as your are always dying, therefore you also have death at your disposal... you have all you need to know about life and death... all you need to do is trust yourself... I hear talk of books and courses... Who writes those books and courses...? People like you... How do they get the data...? They look within themselves... I believe it's called deep introspection... To gravitate toward becoming the Sorcerer, you must access and explore the mind's tree... You must create and install your own engines, and brakes... You must learn to leave a branch, and enter any other branch from its tip... You must learn all there is to know about "Global TaiChi Bubble"... Any less is merely fantasizing and pretending, like playing house and doctor...

What you all really need, is to read Yogi Alfred Narayana's unfinished hand written, never published instruction manual for his student teachers... It's what gave me my edge to sorcery...
I was visiting a magic lady in Toronto... She showed me a thick 8 by 14 inch manual by Alfred, stating that this is something I might be interested in... adding that it was left at her place by a friend who died in one of the Arabian wars... I knew Alfred, and she gave me permission to borrow the manuscript... Immediately I made two copies, then returned it to her... and mentioned a manuyscript to Alfred... He lit up, and there were tears in his eyes... He thought it was lost forever... I gave him her phone number, and suggested he claim he tracked his manuscript by magic... He turned out to be a good friend...
When I asked him "who should I study to learn magic and sorcery, he said, "Me"...
Ended up that he wanted me to edit my copy for him... 14 years later I had finally finished the edit...which was more adding than correcting... I tracked him down on the Net, to discover that he had been gunned down at his doorstep... Yuk! and Yikes!... He has stated that this manuscript was like holding an h-bomb in your hand... and he was correct... and it was an understatement...
I don't know what happened to his original... probably buried in some mindless christian's, or George R's, boxed library... but I know it hasn't been published, or the world would be a lot different than it is... Now the manuscript is half Alfred's, half mine... Problem is that this Species isn't ready for free access to this much raw power... they would do evil, and seriously hurt themselves with it... This manuscript burns with all my notes, sketches, and floppies, on my 60th birthday, unless I see a major attitude change toward Life, in this sorrowful sickly sub-human sinful mindless sorceryless species... hellbent on selfdestruction and total anhilation... Pity!... Because these 60-thousand pages of trance depth notes could quickly change all mankind into cosmic Beings...
If I can get this dam antique "coal burning" scanner working, I'll post a few of the minor excerpts of Alfred's and my manuscript...

Greetings Zetsumai Ryu! Welcome to the Forum! Just what form of Necromancy calls to you? Are you finding that communicating with the deceased a goal you aspire to or would rather cultivate? How well do you get along with the human species that you entertain the need/desire to deal with them after they have died? The Necronomicon is not really a good primer for those actively seeking the Art of Necromancy, despite its nomiker. Also, out of curiosity, just which version of the Necronomicon disturbed you so? Alas, I find my questions growing rather than abating. I hope that you find what you are looking for here at Sacred-Magick....There is a fairly strong Dragon following of various natures here. Welcome aboard! -Bym (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Zetsumei, what he's trying to say, I think, is that just because you've discovered magick, doesn't mean that all of reality is gone. Magick is part of reality, not a substitute. Sure, you can read a book, and pull energy into you, but that doesn't mean you should leap off a roof or grab a steak knife. That's just pretty ridiculous. Magick is not going to help keep you alive if you jump off a roof too high for a human to handle. Sure, you may have discovered something new, a part of reality you didn't know about, but that doesn't mean discard all of the rest of it.

I have read numerous articles on necromancy over the years, and it has always scared me, until I realised that I had already been practising it most of my life. I always thought it entailed standing in a circle in graveyards at the full moon and chanting strange incantations whilst waving a sword in the air, for the reanimation of a decayed corpse, (Physically impossible, I know.......Or mabe not?). When I have a problem of some kind, to which I cannot find a solution, I ask my Ancestors to help me out, and they never fail me. I don't always get the answer in the way I expect, or want, but I always get the answer. No elaborate rituals, incantations, fat of unbaptised babies or anything at all is required. Just purity of intent, and a genuine desire to make contact. They are really good at arranging seemingly mundane coincidences, so it is easy to forget to thank them for their efforts. They don't really care about this in most cases, and in mine, they know what an absent minded buffoon I can be sometimes ( I just got a voice saying,'You said it!'.) so they make allowances. They also have a wicked sense of humour, and their jokes have bruised and battered my ego into submission on many occasions, mostly to my own personal benefit, although it hardly ever feels like it at the time. I do sometimes like to burn incense along with my prayer, or whatever it's called, as I do feel the Ancestors appreciate the effort made on their behalf. Plus I also feel that they can experience sensuality to some degree by tuning into the sensory impressions of those incarnates open enough to allow them to do so. Especially by invitation. They will not harm us, as they have nothing to gain by doing so, and as they are likely to be those who loved us when alive, there is no logical reason why this should suddenly change post mortem. I have had the privelage of being taken over to the other side, and seen the conditions of their/our non-existence. My visual impressions of them/us was of infinitely small, but infinitely bright points of light, sentient and enlightened. They made their incarnate identities known to me by the images moulded into the energy substance which surrounded them. Sometimes I would see a portrait of their face, and then maybe a series of artworks in the case of the more artistically inclined, or images of their acheivements during the course of their lives. None of this was really necessary, as there was a telepathic sharing of thoughts between us, but it made for an entertaining show all the same. Obviously, there are some points I'm not sure of, like the extent of seemingly needless suffering in the world, but I think I've got quite far in working that one out, but don't want to go into it right now, as I'm ready for my ugly sleep. If anyone is interested, I can write a fuller account of this at some point, but it will be a long post and might take me some time. Thanks for reading. Steve.
