I made this post while still laughing at Smasher666's jab at my Football team in another thread (Go Bills!!!! Boo Giants!!! LOL!), and it made me curious as to who else here where sports fan's. As an aside, I would love to know any football fan's predictions about this year's Super Bowl contestants (judging from Thursday's performance, it sure won't be the Steeler's again, though they'll definatley make the playoffs. Mind you, I know Big Ben was out, so, we'll see (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ) And, h*ll, who here loves sports? -F.F. EDIT: Also, vote for as many as you like, the poll is an "open" one, just for kicks, lol! EDIT 2: Well, my fav is American Football. I used to like Basketball alot (still love to play it), but the player's became, I don't know, "corny" to me I suppose. That's a strong enough word, and I don't won't to offend anyone, but jeeze, Basketball doesn't have the luster it did during the 90's. I'll still watch the playoff's and Championship though. I used to love Baseball too (I still love going to occasional games, go Yanks and Blue Jay's! Yeah I know the Jay's suck, lol! Not for long, lol!) I watch the other sports listed, but I wouldn't consider myself a "fan", though I "generally like" every sport that's listed up there (As far as playing them. I played my first round of golf last year. I suck. But that's okay, LOL! I'm real good at Basketball, and play a mean game of flag and tackle football, lol!) I'm looking forward to this Hockey season (I used to hate Hockey, but since my local team made such a good showing last year, I'll go back to a game. I admit, Hockey games are fun to BE AT, not neccesarily to watch, lol!) This post has been edited by Frater F.A.M.E.: Sep 9 2006, 03:49 PM

Or Mixed Martial Arts competition but I am not sure if that is a federally recognised sport yet. Peace. QUOTE(smasher666 @ Sep 10 2006, 05:36 PM) At 8:15 tonight Sunday for the first time in NFL history 2 brothers start as Quarterbacks on opposing teams. Eli Manning for the Giants. Payton Manning for Indianapolis. Time to start up the BBQ grill. My prediction Giants by 3. Lets see how psychic I am this season. This is a tough one, but I'm going with Indy by 14. I have Tiki Barber and Reggie Wayne both on my NFL Fantasy Football team, and I expect both of them to have great, but not monster games. (Though I hope they both do, lol!) In any case, I already have the beer ready for what looks like a fantastic time, lol! History in the making, WOOT!!! Good luck to ya Giants (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) They'll need it, lol! -F.F.

QUOTE(fatherjhon @ Sep 10 2006, 06:38 PM) Kick Boxing, middleweight division. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sport_boxing.gif) Awesome bro! You know, honestly I've been thinking of taking up the martial arts, particularly Bujinkan Taijutsu. A local dude teaches at the local university, and I was thinking of giving it a go. I've read some of the writings of Massaki Hatsumi, and I find them full of wisdom and fully applicable to magick. Of course, I then look at forums like www.bullshido.com , and it makes me think, lol! (Granted, those guys seem like clowns, good clowns, but clowns) I get different reviews from different folks. In any case, I'll go to the first class this week (they start at each semester) and make my own mind up. -F.F.

A local dude teaches at the local university, and I was thinking of giving it a go. I tried that once the one I was working with was rather famous tournaments and such. It was obvious by the way he fought that he was as good as he made himself out to be. However he had no knack for the teaching side of it, and as a result we spent most of our time sparing. This, needles to say led me a great deal of burses and several sprained joints but no closer to mastering Kick Boxing. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tn_dizzy002.gif) Left after eight mounts (Yes, I'm that bullheaded) and joined a gym for Kick Boxers they had several instructors. It was vary beneficial. This was easy for me because I lived in a large city, so it may be harder for you to find one. But I don’t know or pretend to presume your situation, if your comfortable with this arrangement have fun!

Cosmic consciousness is devoid of diversity; yet the universe of diversity exists in notion.... We contemplate that reality in which everything exists, to which everything belongs, from which everything has emerged, which is the cause of everything and which is everything.... The light of [this] self-knowledge alone illumines all experiences. It shines by its own light. This inner light appears to be outside and to illumine external objects.

Wow! What a great game! Reggie Wayne had an okay night, and Tiki Barber had a monster night, depiste not getting a touchdown, awesome! fatherjhon, I'm looking forward to seeing this guy in action, and I hope he can teach (at the same time, I hope I can learn from him), because the next nearest place for Taijutsu to me is 45 minutes away in Rochester, and they are Genbukan, not Bujinkan (nothing wrong with that, I just want to see what Bujinkan offers). The nearest Bujinkan place is 1 hour and 45 min away in Toronto, CA. Basically, I hope this pans out, lol! The martial arts community in my city is actually VERY large for a city of it's size, it's just that we only have one Taijutsu place, and one Capoeira place. Other than that, we have doubles and triples of everything else, lol! Cool stuff bro, glad you found what you needed to progress (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) -F.F.
