i wanted to create am experiment
and place sigils in one given area

i would place them, so at 5 points they create a pentagram

and everything in that pentagram
i would create the sigils for a given purpose

such as gaining energy
or just seeing if i can have control over anything in that one area?

is this a good idea? possible?

anyone else have this idea?

let me know

This is a great idea, you might also consider different numbers of sigils around the perimeter, depending on the purpose. Five is pretty universal in the pentagram, but a hexagram or septagram can be powerful if your purpose is in line with them numerologically.

It's a great idea, when I tried this I called it a Spell Net, cause I like fancy labels that are fun to say...

My purpose was to help a business that I was helping to start up be successful, and I placed sigils at each of the four corners of the building and one at the center. They are still in business and the owner has opened up two other resteraunts, and this man has very little business sense.

Try it, and let me know how it goes!

peace

i just don't know for what yet
maybe i'll setup a net
for meeting people i was destined to meet
only good people though

i don't need the trash in my life anymore!

i will start creating the sigils tonight

and place them tomorrow?
question? how did you go about placing them?

they are gonna be on paper.
i have no blank stickers or anything

I drew them on the cornerstones of the building, and then on the cement before we laid the carpet down.

I think the placing should have something to do with the geography of the area. For instance, say you want to draw towards you the people in your 'town' or wherever you live, who will teach you something in life, you might map out the relavent points around your area on a circle, and then go to those places and bury the charged sigils in the ground there. If you want to do it up special, you might consider buying a few soapstone squares, they are easy to carve with a nail or needle, and then won't break down when you bury them.

If it's just your home, bury the sigils in the relative places around your home, but in that case I would include some aspect of each sigil that will specify attraction. Sigils set around a wide area should be, in my opinion, specified to focus towards your home, or sacred space.

Also, when i did my experiment originally, I made a seperate sigil for each point, which was specifically designed for it's position - I did the four corners, and made sigils in line with the directional qualities in mind, as well as a fifth central sigil which connected and focused the other four. I suggest a central sigil, simply because it will direct the overall effect - that is, unless you would rather it be more haphazard.

What else? Ah, to launch the spell net I created a diagram which showed the sigils in their relative positions, connected by lines that depicted the flow of energy, and charged that grand sigil seperately and after the others had been charged and laid down. The old pump and stare method, followed by a short burning ritual, did the trick well for me, but certainly use whatever method you are most familiar with, whatever has worked before.

If you do create a master sigil, your intention of course will determine where the energy is supposed to flow along the connecting lines, but you can use lines colored blue and red to make it graphically significant as well if you like. if it is pulled, the blue on the end from which energy should be coming, and red on the end towards which energy flows. A blue circle surrounding the sigils, with a red circle at the center around the binding sigil, the two connected by segments at the four points which are blue at the half closest to the outer circle and red at the half closest to the inner circle. I'll make a graphic in photoshop if that needs illustration, assuming you're interested in that method. Personally i'm geometrically and graphically minded, and use the effort of concentrating on mathematical accuracy as a way to focus my intention on the task.

I believe that's about all the immediate advice I have on the matter. Be creative with this method, creating spell nets with sigils is a great way to magickally customize your living space. For instance you might create a spell net for a different intention in each room, and create a larger encompassing net to harmonize everything from one room to another. My roomates let me ward our apartment from top to bottom and we have been living the high life ever since! The living room stimulates conversation and intellectual growth (no tv here) the bathroom stimulates health and purification, the kitchen is geared for health and plentiful food (cornucopia style), and each bedroom is geared towards our individual personalities (spiritual growth and collection of energy in my room, creativity and musical mastery in another, and peace, prosperity, and wisdom in the last). The master sigil contains an extra one containing a peice of all the others (more than twenty) and laid out in the geometric proportions of our home, dictating the flow of energy in from the windows and doors and into the living room, where it then flows into the various parts of the house and between the rooms.

Anyway, thought i'd give my latest example, it's cool that you thought of this idea, it shows that you're guiding yourself intuitively. This method of using your environment to enhance your magickal life is very effective.

It'll be difficult to forget about these kinds of spell nets, but I have found that once the net is created, it actually seems to help to focus some attention on it when you are nearby and feed excess energy, etc. You might even include a sigil in the overall structure that acquires energy for it at intervals or constantly (intervals being, for instance, during the full moon, during the day, etc, depending on what kind of energy you want to be associated with it).

Good luck! Peace

Whoa this is a kick ass idea! I'm going to try it out. Thanks guys (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

A question though, what is the intent on the master sigil? Is it used to just tie all the other sigils together or is there some kind of general intent behind it (i.e. let everyone in this house be at peace and in harmony...or something like that).

In short, yes, but the master sigil's intention is, depending on the number of networked sigils involved, more complex than your average sigil. That complexity is why I normally include the exacting art of geometry in the overall sigil/seal (you might consider it a seal, really, because it binds the other sigils together).

The master sigil directs all of the energies of the others, so it's actually more a matter of breaking down the intentions of the different sigils. The point of breaking down the intentions is basically so that each sigil can function in a narrow capacity (knowing, from other discussions of sigil work that a specific intention is a lot more intense and focused than a very broad and inclusive intentions) which means that each intention is being fulfilled seperately - the master sigil governs those intentions and directs them into an inclusive goal. it's like having a well trained team of commandos who all know exactly what their job is and fullfill it exactly, while the master sigil is like the intelligence agent who sees the big picture and uses the success of the indivual soldiers to maximum effectiveness.

Using bleachXlight's example of creating a spell net to draw good people into your life who will benefit you somehow. In this case we'll look at a model based on the cardinal directions.

The sigil set in the north, drawing on the energy of earth, might be constructed for the purpose of drawing individuals into your life who will inspire the positive earth qualities - wisdom, understanding, order, and abundance.

To the south, drawing the energy of fire, a sigil set to draw into your life people who will teach you lessons of strength, passion, action, and energy.

To the east, drawing the energy of air, a sigil to draw people who will teach you lessons of intellect, logic, ingenuity, and creativity.

To the west, drawing in the energy of water, a sigil set to draw into your life people to teach you lessons about emotional wisdom, intuition, and adaptability.

The master sigil, then, in this instance would be governed by the element of Spirit or Akasha, appropriate for gearing the entire network towards Destiny and the subtle current. The intention of this master sigil, or Seal, would be something along the lines of "To Call good people into my life" in the case of a complex sigil (example posted below). The intention of the central governing sigil has to be simple, just as with any sigil, which is why I worked out the system of placing each of the sigils into a master seal - its the law of similarity and association in action.

In this example, the master sigil takes a central role in the Master Seal, and the intention is broad, because each of the quartered sigils are more specific. So, each sigil can perform its function along a narrow purpose, which is akin to pinching a water hose to create pressure - instead of just pouring out, the stream is focused and has more power. Magickal energy moves exactly like water, except in more dimensional context than physical water.

This is an example of a template for a master seal, based on the cardinal directions, in the method I talked about before, just for reference if you do decide to use it. In place of colors (energy moves from blue to red in direction) you might used simple black, with arrows to dictate the movement of energy.

This master seal is consecrated and charged, as I think i mentioned before, in the same manner as the individual sigils. The master sigil the one in the center, is consecrated as a part of this overall master seal, thus tying its energy into the seal specifically with a visually depicted intention of how it is to function within the spell net.

That's a long winded yes, I think, but I'm a gemini, it's my nature to prattle on at length.

peace
