I was thinking...
Any spellwork has to do with a thoughtform, and the more emotions are put into that thoughtform, the stronger it will be.
Now my question would be: What if you could hold a thoughtform for months or even years, one single thought, a few hours a day? Or what if a few hundred people or more would focus on one single thoughtform?
After doing some research on thoughtforms, I came to believe that many entities people work with could very well be famous thoughtforms which many people at one point believed in, giving it life.
Same can go for the Necronomicon, the fact that so many people either feared it or revered it, due to its mysterious nature, very well may have gave it its own life. I also think same can go for Karma and those who believe in it (this is only my opinion im completely staying neutral on the post), but I believe those who believe more in Karma are more likely to somehow be affected by it.
I'd like to see what you think.

if the idea of what you state in your post is energetised with a real powerful source, this would create such a powerful thoughtform that what you have written would be true. by real powerful source for this case i equate to like planetray level energy. COming to what you want to come to, its a quite intersting thing you mention. but know that every action is the result of a type of thoughtform in this world. i would not have typed this post had not been a thought been born in the mind of mine and due to correlationship between astral and physical, i manifest this thoughform of wanting a post, to actually make the post. .. So the real world is in itself a consequence of sort of thoughform from lots of sources etc... Magicians can use thought and consequently thoughforms to create stuff inside their mind but outside their astral bodies to eventually manifest outside their physical bodies or interact with the environment. Its where spell making also comes into play :-) The Necronomicon might be as you say a consequence of thoughtforms. but the deities in it are much more powerful than to be result of thoughtforms. but the way one sees them is a consequene of what a sumerian culture would imprint in your mind. A hindu will see the same deities in other forms to a summerian... OmNamahShivaya has post a picture of Inanna http://www.sacred-magick.org/index.php?showtopic=3545 and here you would find her in a gorgeous deity in saree. from my point of view, even if the whole human race were to meditate for centuries to create a mother fucking huge thoughtform that would definitely manifest in the real world, still the Gods would toy with this being. :-) regards mystick. Keep up your reseach. being critical is what the Gods expect of the human race than to blindly believe in written texts. This post has been edited by mystick: Nov 16 2006, 11:47 PM

I found these things to note:
------------------------------
Thoughtforms are created over time, and are the energetic equivalent of schemas (deeply held beliefs). If there is a very strong activating event, that happens only once; such as the trauma of a car accident, or rape, then, because of the strength of the emotions, a powerful thoughtform will be created. Or if over a number of years, an experience happens daily of being undermined in small, subtle ways, such as the dynamics that can occur in families, then again, due to the dripping tap of emotion, a large pool of energy is created for the thoughtform to grow big and strong. So then, here we have the situation of a thoughtform living happily (maybe not for you) in your aura, creating the reality of the belief that is at the core of its existence, and feeding off the energy that it co-creates with the world around.
------------------------------
Its amazing how any event such as an accident can cause a change in the astral by means of thoughtforms. I wonder if the entity known to many as "Death" is a thoughtform himself, as over thousands of years many millions of people have feared him or revered him, or whatever may be the case.

.....I'd like to see what you think. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/ac42.gif) This is rant material.
Well I think that you should try it out. Think of something you really want, and multipy it by pi, add 6 zeros and concentrate on it for, say, 3 years. Use you whole attention and focus on that wish without loosing poise, dignity or heart. Then remove it from the oven and place on cooling rack. Ice with own choice of frosting and eat. Enjoy. No seriously, thoughtforms are a sort of concentrated prayer. Actually wishing is prayer - not necesarily a religious one, but such a desire to have something manifest itself, that everything else pales in contrast.
Also, IMO I think that more intense prayer/thoughtform should be offered en masse for a change in mindset of humans, and not to the various deities which may or may not hear your envocations.
Edit: I have been thinking about this for most of the day. And then I subsequently read an article concerning a place in England which has, since time immemorial, been held in reverence and esteem by generations of men. Because of the concentrated effort of these many thousand minds, the site (Glastonbury) has now become steeped in lore and legend and with this conjoined honouring, the healing properties of its waters and the peaceful atmosphere of the surrounding gardens are recognised as being a very real force. All because of the power of many minds creating thoughtforms and the unlimited imaginations of humans creating a reality.

The question to your answer my friend resides all around us, look at all the fast food chains, superstar celeberties, no one knows marshal matthers, they know eminem, no one knows where ronald mcdonald came from but they know mcdonalds....they start off small then become stronger and manifest in the physical world, its is also with ideals as well, the pilgrims wanted a place to be free from religious persecution, out comes america...look and research some of the symbols you see constantly and you'll see alot of them have deep roots in history, they survive off are attention, adoration and acknowledgement that they exist....thats how I would describe it..but of course its just my humble little opinion (IMG: style_emoticons/default/angel.gif)
