Odd Dragon Dream? Options

I have alot of weird dreams but they are never about anything like dragons and such. Allright this is the dream sorry if it's a little vague.

It starts of underground (like an underground civilization) Lots of tunnels etc anyways there were people that now that I think about it may have been elves or something of that nature because of the clothes they were wearing and i think their ears were pointed. I can actually remember the clothes quite clearly. Well those "people" there were about maybe 5 or 6 and one of them was me. I didn't look like myself but I knew that one of them was me. And well we were being chased by a dragon. He was very large, light brown yellow eyes. and we were running for quite a while and we tricked him into getting caught in the tunnels so he couldn't move and he started to talk to us (the dragon). I don't remember what he was saying but he was dying right there in front of us and we all were upset a couple people were crying including myself. So when he died we just left him & went back to our rooms and me & a friend talked but again I haven't the slightest clue what we were talking about. I woke up sitting up and i was almost in tears like this dragon really meant a great deal to me but I don't know why he was chasing me in the first place.

I was just wondering if anybody could interpret this dream or parts of it. I have my own thoughts on what it could be but I would like to hear yours (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

P.S. I believe I might get the meaning of the dream but what was with the dragon & being underground etc..?

When you ask for help in interpreting your dreams understand that only you can decipher the true meaning. What I (or anybody else) might say is only to guide you on your own process of self realization. With that said, I’ll give you my initial impressions.

First thing, it seems your dream is very subconscious. What I mean by this is that the symbolism of going underground and tunnels is directly linked to those deep regions of the mind where we rarely venture on a day to day basis. Here is where you hide things from your own mind; emotions, frustrations, and worries that you may not even consciously know that you have. These internalized energies build up and gain strength in the subconscious and create an internal monster. This monster can take several forms from laziness, to depression, guilt, or even a creature that haunts you in your dreams.

Now the symbolism for dragons is extensive (good and bad); but rather than focus on the dragon itself, I think the key aspect of your dream is that you were being chased. This suggests persecution. You are perhaps running from your own internalized emotions, frustrations, or worries. Something in your past (a tragic event, an ignored responsibility, etc.) that you did not deal with immediately but rather brushed aside, has been catching up to you.

The fact that the dragon (your persecutor) dies is also a key element. For me this means that whatever you have internalized will come to pass and things will go back to normal. Feeling like crying after a dream like this is not uncommon, after all the dragon was part of you. With his death those negative energies pent up inside your subconscious dissipate and this indeed can be a very emotional experience. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I was partially right on what I thought it meant but you laid it out all and explained it very well thank you! I shall keep this in mind if any other dreams should have some similarities and whatnot (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) For the dragon when I said he was dying he was talking to me and he was saying something that I didn't remember, I forgot to mention but it felt sort of like he was trying to comfort me. I completely understand now ^-^
