Summoned Beings Appear But Do Not Listen. Options

I have worked about 5 evokations. I am clearly not an expert. The last time that I summoned a being it appeared in my triangle. 'visibly' for a few moments. I cannot understand why these beings do not listen to me. I will admit that I did not go into details of controling the being ect... such as in the goetia. Perhaps it is these simple details; or that my mind may prevent the intervention do to a lack of understanding of the beings purpose. What is their motivation. Also they appear and do not act... So perhaps I am growing a slight mental illness. However they have worked in the past but recently it has not.

Much the same as in spell work. Is it common to experience ups and downs that come in time and with understanding; or am i just not tapping into myself correctly.

This could be caused by a number of reasons, but I think taking a break may be in order. Get a video game, go to some poetry readings, do something to get your mind off of magick for a couple of weeks and let yourself recharge.

What is your motivation to envoke from the Goetia? Maybe you should consider getting some assistance as muddling about with these goetian guys can be a rough ride.

Another aspect that may be coming into play is willpower. When beings such as the Goetics are summoned, being in control is very important. By no means should you be rude to them, but do let them know 'who's boss'.. Recite the conjuration, call out with the god-names of your choice and see what happens. But i think ashnook might be right here. A break sounds like a good idea, a chance to gather yourself and get a fresh perspective on things.

When you hit a roadblock that there seems to be no immediate way around take a break. Do anything but magick for a couple of weeks. Use those 2 weeks to analyze the situation and you will find the answers that you need.

I have found that I usually bottom out and get stuck like this briefly before attaining a higher level. I would imagine that you are about to go through some sort of transformation.

If you know much about lifting weights then you have probably heard about over training. Its when you work a muscle so much that instead of getting stronger it gets weaker. In such a situation you have to take a week or so off from training. At the end of that week you are much stronger even though you have not been training at all.

Magick muscle works very similarly to muscle of the flesh.

If your mind seems tired then perhaps the spirit is tired as well.

As it happens I am in the throes of something very similar right now. What I have learned over my time is this:

When u feel magickally "flat"--take that break. Imagine you are a cup, the magickal Evolution is the liquid (lets use beer for this example!), you go and pour the beer in the cup its gonna foam. If you keep pouring hen the foam gets too high it will spill and make a mess and you waste the beer--WHICH IS BAD! (LOL). What one must do is pour in a stead amount and if it seems the content seems foamy--sit back and wait for the foam to settle. Thus the same concept applies to magick (I have found!)

I do NOT condone abusing spirits, but control can be gained very fast, here are a few ways.

Staff of solomon:
slap this baby against the ground(the end of it) 3 times while giving your commands. More instructions on this are given in the keys.

The "Hot Box":
Take the appropriate sigil in "Metal" of the spirit and place in the hot box(a hot plate works) and recite the "Chains Chant of Fire of solomon", and burning sulfur. However sulfur is very powerful smell, so take care when doing this.

Nobody seems to understand that the Goetics are Gods, they will not tolerate 9 foot circles or people trying to "control" them, 9 foot circles are very insulting to them. They do not hurt people who show them respect, and use traditional ways of summoning them, which do not involve nine foot circles. I have gotten only rewards and great things from goetic beings, and I have not used a single 9 foot circle. Think about it. Does anyone doubt me?

Other than the double posting I have to agree w/ that last post--sort of (sort of being I never used Goetic callings but use 50 Names of MARDUK callings ). I dont use circles either. It is insulting to these spirits. You are saying u r afraid of them and want to hide behind a shield and boss them around. They dont take too kindly to that attitude. They respect a sense of bravery when dealing w/ them. If you show them respect they will communicate w/ u much easier and more friendly like. And to use their powers is to ask for assistance and to recognize them for their assistance is not a bad idea as well. Arrogance wont get you very far in these type of workings.

The only use of the circle you can think of then could be to push away astral shits that try to suck away energy.. but normally that goes with banishin before and after.



But still if beginners use the circles, they can program it as a means of self confidence and a support for not letting fear disturb the ritual. I dont think it you have this in your mind, then the Goetics would feel offended.

"Tolerate" it or not, they have very little choice if you make them. Also the traditional way of summoning them is with a 9 foot circle, as per the text they are listed in.

You are misunderstanding just what a circle is. Yes it does grant protection but not as some invisible force field they cannot cross, it is a sign of divinity, of never ending ultimate power. Properly constructed the spirit has no choice but to be in awe.
