Has anyone read the Necromantic Ritual Book?

I already ordered it 2 nights ago, and it will arrive prior to January 16.

Is this a good Necromancy book?

Here is the book:

Greetings DeathStalker,

I read this years ago. It was good as it gave a good method for contacting Azrael. Azrael is totally awesome.

It was bad in that it suggest breaking into a tomb pouring milk down a corpse throat and if my memory is correct stabbing it with a knife? Again it was like 10 years ago when I read this but I have a pretty good memory.

I am into Necromancy.

I am not into tomb robbing. It is disrespectful to the dead. Communing with the dead is cool. Mutilating corpses is not cool.

I dont know how Wendell Leliah went off the deep end with that. He must be a pretty weird dude.

However the method for contacting Azrael works. So it is worth the read.

Peace!

Seems like a good read, is it too advanced for the necromancer initiate?

Thanks for the review.

Actually, the name is Leliah Wendell, and it's a she, not a he. She also believes herself to be Death's soulmate. I'm not going to even BEGIN to go into that.

I have that book, I've never tried anything from it as it's really not my style. I got it more to round out my library and collection more than anything else. She also published another one, Our Name Is Melancholy: The Complete Books of Azrael. It's a decent read, fairly entertaining, but still. She doesn't strike me as someone who's entirely there. As for the book itself, I'm not sure if it's still in print--I found my copy ten or fifteen years ago.

Well she's not the first one to make such claims, I've heard many like that, esp. about Azrael.

It's called schizophrenia, they usually believe to be something important due to their psychological inner desires, and they form illusions of the mind.

Regardless, she may have some good insight on what she writes, due to her schizophrenic obsessions.

Thanks for the review guys.

[Greetings Deathstalker,

It’s kind of basic. I would not call it Necromancy as communing with Azrael does not really equate to speaking with the dead. It was easy for me to contact him via the method given.

Greetings Dark Mage,

That’s a woman??? Wow I had no idea. Somehow it’s even spookier to imagine a female breaking into a tomb and mutilating a corpse. Anything to do with a dead body is pretty sick in my book. I would hate to cross paths with her in a dark alley! What is her other book about? Does she suggest anything of a Texas Chain Saw Massacre caliber?

Peace!

I've read all of Konstantinos' books, he's my favourite author. In his books he seems to have ancient Greek Necromantic rites, but at the time when I was reading his books I did not know much of what he was speaking of, thus anything about spiritual.

He emphasizes alot on the Ancient Greek God of the Underworld, Hades.

I'll try his stuff and combine it with Leilah's, see how it works.

What do you think about Konstantinos' methods?

Yepperz! Odd, huh? As for her other works, no, nothing of the slasher film about her. More like "let's dress up as corpses and light a ton of candles whilst listening to old Black Sabbath and pretending we're dead" kind of stuff. Pretty mild, actually. It falls, really, under the heading of 'occult fiction.' She relates her tales as the Bride of Death, and also acts as a mouthpiece for Death himself and basically why he can never feel joy. *shrug* It's not bad, really, but it goes from the sublime to the silly in half a page or less in more than a few spots. Pick it up, if you can find it on the used rack. But I wouldn't pay full price for it.

Greetings Deathstalker,

I am the worst critic. Konstandummie wrote the crappiest book on vampires in existence. As a person who practices vampirism I find it offensive for a fella who admits in his own book he does not practice vampirism. I kicked myself in the a$$ for buying that book.

Greetings Darkmage,

"let's dress up as corpses and light a ton of candles whilst listening to old Black Sabbath and pretending we're dead"

Oh I remember her. She was my girlfriend. For one week! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/help.gif)

LOL Edunpanna! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

After blowing the dust off my Wendell stuff, I can honestly say that she makes Konstantinos' over the top Goth attitude seem non-existent. I dunno. She makes a good point, which is Death is a cosmic and ultimately healing force that is nothing to be afraid of. HOW she does it is another matter entirely. Hell, if I was a little emo kid in jr. high or high school I'd probably think her way of explaining it was pretty cool. Now it just strikes me as silly. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush2.gif)

Whether or not she has any claim to actually being an incarnation or soulmate of Death is frankly not for me to say, but she (at least IMO) tends to make the point a little bit too strongly for my taste.

As for K's book on Vampires, I have it. I believe at one point he argues that 2+2=5. ??? Whatever. I'll have to go back and check. While I like his ideas on the whole, I think everyone has a dud from time to time, and his book on vampires seems to be it. *shrug* (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hands.gif)

Greetings Darkmage,

I can not stand Konstandummie. He makes my eyes bleed. Ashnook tells me he recently bought one of Konstandummie's books in which he recommends that you have your girlfriend pretend that she is dead and then dance around with her before jumping her bones. I am very pleased that moron has not gotten any more of my money.

Not only is that very weird I think most women would smack Konstandummie if he suggested such to them. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/worthy.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/00000047.gif) If he is some sort of occult genius then what a sad time we live in. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/snstgs7.gif)

I wonder if this dude had a lobotomy pr something?

Peace

Yeah he doesn't seem to be much opinionated, I guess its something about the way he writes which attracts his readers.

What I didn't like about his Vampires book was that he let some vampire posers make comments on his book; he even had a man , I believe it was, that claimed he was an immortal vampire!

Greetings DeathStalker,

He interviewed an immortal vampire in that book? I must have started vomiting before I got to that point.

One thing is for certain. He deserves the Occult Dingle Dorkus Of The Year Award. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blowup.gif)

ROFLMAO!!! "Occult Dingle Dorkus" is probably one of the best epithets I've heard in a long time. Thanx! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Although, I think that honour goes to Ted Andrews, also in the Llewellyn publishing stable. At least Konstantinos has something worthwhile to say most of the time and doesn't repeat himself ad nauseam w/a writing style that makes an eighth-grader look sophisticated.

As for the incident you mention, WTF?? I missed this little event. What book is it in? It sounds hilarious, like he stuck in a practical joke to see how many people took it seriously. Now, if he MEANT it seriously, then I'm going to be very very afraid.

@both of you: I have the first printing of the book. Mr. Poseur is on p.103, although, IMHO, everyone who wrote a letter for inclusion in that chapter is more than a little bit, umm...bent. Yeah, that's it. Right up w/Ms. Wendell claiming to be the Bride of Death. *sigh* (IMG:style_emoticons/default/horse.gif)

I think it was his "Nocturnicon" book.

aside from the rediculous I believe that Konstantinos makes something fairly easy to understand. When i didn't know anything K got me going. Now im reading crowley, tyson, kabbala. I would say that a lot more work has to be put into someone reading K's book for better results. But it will teach you enough for things to work.

That's how it was for me, Konstantinos was my #1.

I have spoken to the guy via email he's a really cool guy, but his rituals and practices are oft too tedious and strenuous, I rather like his concepts and philosophy.

Does anybody care to post the method for contacting Azrael? Is it new or just the same old same old AP through sigilised door etc? I must agree with the comments saying Konstantanus is a fool. Sure he presents other peoples material in an easy to understand format, largely by removing substance, but I am convinced he has no idea. I read the Vampire book and then I threw it in the bin, it is the only book I have ever thrown away. I couldn't believe the rubbish, it must have been a joke book!
