Feel free to move this if it's not the right section (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Allright my question is well i'm interested in doing a lbrp ritual. I know I will probably have to do it several times before I get it right which I am willing to do but, do you need tools for it? I know a couple "lessons" say that you need tools but do you really NEED them? If you do really need them does anyone know where I might find some? Also does anyone know of a good lbrp lesson? I found alot but I don't know which one is the best because they all have slight differences, etc.

Thank you for your time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) I know I know i'm a complete noob (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

All you need for the LBRP is something with which to trace out the pentagrams. At first a finger works fine, incense sticks are great (since you will see the smoke trace out the pentagram), but eventually you will want to do this with your wand or dagger. This is a practice that gains strength over time, you will see what I mean after a few weeks or so of practice.
Follow this link, to see the basic LBRP instructions. You also might want to check out the many threads that already exist regarding the LBRP. Good Luck.

Depending on which author you are reading, you will find different opinions regarding the necesity of tools for the LBRP. For example, in "Modern Magick" Donald Kraig recommends, "There are several things which you may want to use when you perform the LBRP. However there is only one thing which you must have, and that is a place where you can be alone and undisturbed. Will Parfait in the "New Living Qabalah" does not describe any tools at all, simply stating to draw the pentagrams using your finger. Israel Regardie in the introdution section of "The Golden Dawn" states, "Follow the written instructions to the letter--literally, and the ritual itself will present no difficulties." The Golden Dawn instructions indicate a dagger.

There is a lack of concensus on this (as there is in many topics in magick). I personally believe that it is far more important to consistently practice the LBRP (with or without any implements), than it is to wait until you have all the implements for a circle. In addition, situations may arise where the LBRP may be useful outside of a formal ritual. I have performed it mentally while outside, in situations where I felt an undue amount of negativity affecting me. I also use it before meditating.

The LBRP is available in the Sacred Magick library. It can also be found in many books like the ones I listed above. You could also type Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentacle into a search engine. As far as one version being better than another, this is also a matter of opinion. See which one feels right to you, or is related to the particular system of Magick you are interested in practicing.

The traditional implements of Magick can be found at many occult stores. You may have one locally, or can search for one on the web. In addition, some feel it is best to construct your own tools(if you are able to).

Good luck.

IMHO all you need is "yourself," and a quiet place, or some earplugs where you will not be disturbed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wizard.gif)

Agreed with the above (i think)

Actually, it'd be my suggestion that you specifically start this ritual work without any tools (assuming you don't have ritual tools from some other practice-paradigm).
It'd actually be distracting and more then ineffective to use some tools (for this ritual) to start with.
Get a clear idea of how to "make" energy flow, how to hold/visualize that energy in a distinct pattern (pentagram), how to conduct your work in a specifically created energy field . . . it would certainly be most useful to first learn that with only your "person" . . . then extent to tools.

(anyhow, how would you actually have a tools worthwhile (ie, consecrated in any format) if you've only just started with the basic rites. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) )

yeah Ive been doing the lbrp for a couple of years with just my 2 fingers ang just resently im using an atheme and its harder to draw the pentegrams. I dont know if i should just wait till i get use to it or through away the atheme all together. the most important tool I have would be my black mirror and my journal.
