I am also a strong christian I was just here to do some research through the protection and Guidance of Jesus Christ. The Bible says: Leviticus 19:26-28 QUOTE " 'Do not practice divination or sorcery. Acts 8 says: QUOTE 9Now for some time a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and amazed all the people of Samaria. He boasted that he was someone great, 10and all the people, both high and low, gave him their attention and exclaimed, "This man is the divine power known as the Great Power." 11They followed him because he had amazed them for a long time with his magic. 12But when they believed Philip as he preached the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13Simon himself believed and was baptized. And he followed Philip everywhere, astonished by the great signs and miracles he saw.
14When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them. 15When they arrived, they prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, 16because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into[c] the name of the Lord Jesus. 17Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
18When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money 19and said, "Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit."
20Peter answered: "May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money! 21You have no part or share in this ministry, because your heart is not right before God. 22Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive you for having such a thought in your heart. 23For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin."
24Then Simon answered, "Pray to the Lord for me so that nothing you have said may happen to me."
25When they had testified and proclaimed the word of the Lord, Peter and John returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many Samaritan villages. The power and protection of the blood of Christ according to the bible is stronger than anything that you will find in the workings of the occult... According to the scriptures in the bible divination and such is power which does not come from God. QUOTE 7 The seers will be ashamed and the diviners disgraced. They will all cover their faces because there is no answer from God."

Greetings Waldoworld, You come quoting scripture to convert those who you feel error in their belief. My question is this, if once you have delivered your supposed Soul Saving Gospel, if it is rejected, do you wipe the dust from your feet, since you would have completed what you consider to be your divine commision to go into the world and preach Jesus. Or would you deliver us over as the scripture states also in Leviticus, "Thou Shall Not Suffer a Witch to Live."? My personal feeling is this; We, as do you, have the ability of the Freedom of Choice to determine what we choose to Believe and Practice, I personally feel it is a cop-out when someone says that a particular Deity, or Spirit leads them to behave in a particular manner. The reason I feel this is a cop-out is for the fact, that, when we behave in a questionable way, and inwardly we are unsure of our actions it is easier to lay the repsonibility of our actions on a Higher Power, or Higher Force such as God, so when things don't work out the way we planned we can claim, "Not my Will, But Thine be Done," This frees us from taking responsibility of our own actions, but, not really. A Man of Integrity would say, I was interested in this Path, so I decided to look into it and do some research, in this instance, they claim their own action, and in My Book, This Shows Fortitude and Integrity. This is because we are taught by authoritarian persons all through our early stages of development to believe that our well being, our abilities, our feelings of achievement and success can only be gained through some form of mediator, be that God, or Man. When a person claims to have the only truth, the real and only true spirit leading them, and the sole authority to know the interpretations of a book, they are acclaiming to those with whom they witness that those to whom they preach are ignorant. A saying I shall share with you waldoworld is this: " Do not condemn beliefs that differ from your own, because truthfully, All Religions contain a Ray of The Innefable Light that You Seek." The Path to Knowledge and Wisdom is not to Judge or Condemn, it is to Experience, and through the application of Knowledge with Experience cometh Wisdom. Respectfully, Helel (Joseph) I come not to convert that is not my interest I just simply heard a girl say she was a strong Christian but you cannot be a strong Christian if you practice these things. I mean so respectfully. These are the words of our holy book you see. Everything you do has a consequence as most will agree and in our holy book you cannot practice these things without compromise... If you wish to attack the bible's credibility that is alright because it speaks for itself I merely felt inclined to say something. I know we all can agree that it is better to know little than to misunderstand allot. Good luck to you. Mike This post has been edited by waldoworld: Jan 7 2007, 06:28 PM
