Summoning Through Intent. Options

It seems that once you have truly decided to summon a spirit the spirit will come to you with in a few days without having to preform a ritual for evocation. This happen to anyone else?

furthermore I wonder if ritual is even needed and really is just a fixed way of strongly focusing ones will.
Can a ritual be done at the instant of strongly intending?

The answer to your question is yes and no.. A ritual is used to focus protect and control energy. Also it is used to remove the astral static so your intent and call can be heard without other spirits just coming for the fun of it. Yes it can be done but not with welcomed results..Boo!!!

They do it all the time it seems....and I have gotten quite sick of it, I have tried haveing a pentagram nearby or on me, but they never seem to want to go away.
Further more they never manifest themselves physicaly, only ever mentaly, or am I just being paranoid?

In my mind, I see them or think I see them out of the corner of my eye, or hear things, or feel things on me.

This sounds as though it could be paranoia, or even possibly worse. I would consult your family physician, or if you see a psychotherapist and let them know that you are having hallucinations, and/or describe what is happening. It could be nothing, or it could be something that might be better controlled with medications.

Ultimately, any act of magick, including any form of summoning, is nothing more than will. That's the meaning of "do what thou wilt." Rituals of any sort are designed to focus will, as are sigils. Rituals almost always have intentions. So does the will, ritually focused or not. For someone of experience, ritual is nothing much more than the telescope. I can see the stars without my telescope, but I can see so much more with ritual. But there comes a time when you can gaze through the telescope without ritual. If you get to that stage, you don't need ritual for protection any more than you needed it for focusing will. But where the force of will is accidental, and protection is needed, ritual is a good way to correct the misfocusing of will. I work empty hand, but I started with formal rituals, in very nearly every system there is, with good results in pretty much all of them. Eventually, I just realized it isn't needed. But, on the other hand, it's soothing, reassuring, and a powerful focus tool. I might use a bit or ritual, but rarely any tools, for instance. I guess what I'm saying is, it's not the tools or the ritual in the end that truly matters, it's you. You will know which path works best for focusing will, in my opinion anyway.
