I had a dream months ago, and it's been on my mind for a while.
In the dream, I had woken up and went to breakfast. At the table, my girlfriend had told me that the neighbors had found a mean kitten and was keeping it until they had found a home for it. I walked out of the house and went down the hill to the neighbor's house (which doesn't exist). I went into the house and looked for the people who lived there. Seeing that no one was there, I began to look for the kitten. I heard a loud growling coming from under the cabinets. I looked and saw the glowing yellow eyes of the kitten. When I reached in, it attacked my hand very viciously. I pulled the kitten out and held it up, while it still was attacking me. I felt the pain but didn't care about it whatsoever, by the way. The kitten was a bright crimson color, with long fluffy fur, and what looked like two little horns starting to grow in front of it's ears. The neighbors walked in and I waved to them as they waved back. The male said "Hey, I see you found him". "Yeah I did" I said, "I like him". I cuddled the kitten a little, while it scratched my hand continuously.
And then the dream ended.
Just wondering what ya'll think of the dream.

QUOTE(bym @ Feb 10 2009, 05:23 PM) Greetings! I don't normally get involved with these types of threads...I'm lousy at dream interpretation being somewhat the product of my environs... Originally I had this pegged as a sexual awakening dream...then I looked at your profile asnd changed my mind, LOL! I stoll think of it as a sexual dream but in this case it is you who are starting/ceginning a relationship with someone else and are feeling the attraction despite the scratches....have you met someone new or did someone new move into your sphere of influence? Are you interested in them oe in a relationship? See...the kitten is fluffy/adorable but it is also fierce and can claw you. The color red and the horns can speak for themselves. Anyhoo...I'm just rambling now...suppose I shut up and let someone else take a go... Good Luck! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/i_triangle.gif) Well, I've already been in my current relationship for over a year, and I don't feel that way towards anyone else. So, I don't see how that interpretation could be relevant.

QUOTE(bym @ Feb 10 2009, 06:36 PM) LOL! Well.....I did give you my disclaimer. No harm done and a good laugh at the old Freudian...! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) PS I didn't ask about your current relationship...I suggested that a new one may be in the offing. Or...the kitten w/claws could be a budding new facet in your life...like joining an occult forum or a magical group...the interpretations are almost limitless....have fun! Well at the time that the dream occured till this point and time, no new relationships of any kind were in the offing..
I do recall however feeling an intense anger eminating from the kitten. He was just so angry at everyone and everything.

Now you're getting somewhere! I never would have thought that a hit or miss scenario would work! LOL! It's like the leading question of Frodo Baggins to Gollum in the pool room under the Misty Mtns..."What have I got in my pockets?" Asking your question and not giving us more info will gain you an law of averages result. Unless, of course, you are a precognitive operant or not. The list of correspondences that equate with the various elements of your dream are myriad. The color red, a kitten, the scratching claws, the horns, the placement of the kitten, the yellow glowing eyes, the abandoned house, etc. Dream interpretation when sought through a therapist usually involves an intense question/answer session during the procedure. Oft times it is within the dreamer to unravel their dreams seeing as your dream symbolism is highly subjective to you. So now we hear of Storytelling...that in itself is a tale worth telling!

By the "Storyteller" situation I was referring to is a thing going on between myself, my girlfriend, and a spirit that we have dubbed the "Storyteller".
We don't know what he is exactly. We just know he says, "I don't tell lies. I tell stories".
We started talking to him for fun at first, but everything he's said in the entire time we've known him has been lies. As far as we know. It's hard to tell what's a lie and what's the truth.

QUOTE(bym @ Feb 13 2009, 08:11 AM) Now I see...I concur with Akjana, you are playing with fire. Whatever possesses you to mess with something like this? Are you accomplished mages? At 19 I highly doubt it. How long have you been dealing with this 'Storyteller'? How did this come about? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Frankly, you assume too much.
We didn't call him here. We didn't lure him to our location searching for answers. We didn't do anything of the sort. By what he knows, it appears that he's been following my girlfriend around since she was a baby. Don't know why, he just is.
We started speaking to him a little over a year ago. But by information he has given us about her life, it's easy to see that he's been around her since long before that.

(IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) -Sigh.- I believe I should refrain from continuing this conversation with you any further than this. Any further mockery you attempt to make of me, and my amount of sense, will just cause me to get angry. I'm already an angry person, and for my girlfriend's sake, I've promised to calm down.
One last thing, however. I never said anything about not caring for an opinion. That's what I was wanting. Hence why I started this thread in the first place. It was the "Whatever possesses you to mess with something like this?" and "Are you accomplished mages? At 19 I highly doubt it." comments that made me a bit snappy. I found them rude to be quite honest. Especially the second one.
If I want to delve into the Storyteller Situation, I'll make that into it's own thread and spill the details of the entire scenario later on.
Ja ne.

I wasn't mocking you. You asked for an opinion and my answer was off-the-mark according to you. Akyana suggested another tack, with which you favored as a possibility. I concurred, seeing that you also agreed with her assessment (that you might be playing with fire). Again, you disagreed with me. I've tried to remain upbeat throughout this interchange. I've also have some reservations about this 'Storyteller' which, to all accounts, begins with your girlfriend. You have a chip on your shoulder for some reason. Again, I didn't mock you. What I do have is roughly 3-1/2 times your present age of experience with these things. I am not always right with guessing about something as subjective as dreams. Only you have the best chance of deciphering them. The more info you supply the better guesses from anybody will be! My question of "whatever possessed you..." was a legitimate question. No mockery there. "are you accomplished mages..." was another legit question and a means to possibly swing your focus off yourself and towards some advice. I'm sorry that you got the wrong impression. It's your perogitive to feel that I was being rude You will feel as you do regardless evidently. This small banter has given me more insight to your kitten dream, I hope that it has given those insights to you as well. Perhaps other members would like to chime in and help out! I shall not vex you further.

dream interpretations are in no way my forte, but having read through this thread now it does seem to me as if this dream is a fairly clear warning sign. without wanting to upset you, you do seem somewhat defensive about the situation and perhaps that is the only reason you haven't consciously accepted the same. that's not an attack or a mockery of you or your ability, i just know that personally when i have been emotionally volatile and it is unwarranted, i'm usually projecting/hiding something from myself. i don't think i'm any better than you.
a lot of these symbols will have greater subjective meaning but i'll offer something just in case it helps. a 'neighbor' may symbolise a situation in which you haven't chosen to be involved with, but has come about as part of your living arrangements regardless and can affect your quality of life. a kitten may be something deceptively innocent, but in reality self-serving and a lot of work. the appearance and demeanor of this kitten makes that point loud and clear, but also indicates something even more sinister imo. the way you interact with the kitten may suggest that you are well aware of the danger, and perhaps even the damage it may have already caused, but are choosing to ignore the fact for whatever reason. given that you have divulged some info about this Storyteller situation, to me it seems fairly likely that is what we are talking about here.
perhaps it would be beneficial for you to start a thread about this Storyteller if you feel there is a chance you are indeed 'playing with fire'. there's a lot of great members here who may be able to offer advice and insight as long as you can be respectful in return. all the best to you are your gf
