Something really really really weird just happened
Ok I was lying in bed like half asleep and kind of dreaming but I knew I was dreaming
so I was trying to make things happen in the dream but then when I woke up and was just laying there dozing off again and my whole body went tingly and I heard a like really fast flapping [humming bird wing beat-ish?] sound to my left and I couldn’t move it took a huge amount of effort to flex a finger and I heard a female voice but I have no idea what it was saying or if it even said any words?
and then I freaked out coz I couldn’t move and all that weird stuff was happening and then it stopped and my heart was racing and I blinked and sat up and I know it wasn’t a dream I could feel my body but couldn’t move it I could see my room but couldn’t move my head to see more than my ceiling I could feel my bed sheets on me and I managed to move my finger but now I realize when I moved that finger it didn’t come into contact with anything and it should have.

What happened???

almost OBE?

and how could i do it again ?

This is very similar to my first few OBE experiences. It takes time to learn to move around during an OBE - in the first place you don't use the same mechanism to move, you move with your will directly rather than the body as a 'middle man'. Secondly your mind is in shock from this new experience and has trouble processing your intention into action under the new circumstances.

Keep doing whatever you've been doing, and wait - don't try, just wait - for it to happen again. Go over the experience in your mind over and over again before you lay down especially, and read about OBE techniques, etc., regularly before bed. It will probably happen this way a few more times before you start to get moderate control over the experience, but that's all part of the process! Like learning to use your body as a baby, at first you don't have much control and all movement is wild and erratic, but eventually you learn to balance yourself and how to translate intention into action.

that's the weird thing i want trying and haven't been trying to do anything like OBE or AP, ever, i haven't been getting much sleep lately due to working late in to the night and getting up early to start work again( course work not a real job) and i was enjoying a few hours just dozing in bed and this happened i have no idea how it happened :/ however i will do more research in to it now that i have had this experience

also any idea what the flapping noise was ? or the female voice ?

also thank you for the reply Vagrant Dreamer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) most appreciated i was really freaked out lol

OBEs are completely natural, being conscious of them is what takes practice. Accident or not, if you had the experience then its worth looking into. Conscious OBEs are life changing experiences.

The flapping and the female voice could be lots of things. Could be local astral trash, non-physical beings, other OBE-ers, emotional resonance, etc., could also be your own mind given an opportunity to manifest these things at a point where they seemed more real to you than they would have were you confined strictly to your physical form. When an OBE occurs on purpose or on accident, it's generally best to just observe and report phenomenon; the border of your own consciousness and that of the world around you blurs during these experiences and all kinds of things can happen. All phenomenon have meaning, but that meaning can be very obscure and often impossible to discern without a great deal of experience with them. Journal it, and refer to it when it happens again, and look for correlations.

I was almost out! I just woke up like 3 minutes ago, I was so close. I felt every part of my body lift off of my bed, but my head wouldn't budge. At some point I woke up and the same viewpoint I had while asleep was there when I opened my eyes. I'm a little frustrated because I'm not even nervous to leave my body, just it's so hard lol =(.

I tried to just start with like my skin shedding off and my astrial body coming out. But i had the same problem with my head getting stuck. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/badmood.gif) But i guess ill just keep trying it is hard though but id say itll be worth the trouble. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)

Yep, you are in the beginning stage of your OBE experiment.
I've had it before. It happens when you are extremely relaxed.
Before drifting off to sleep, you can induce OBE. It feels very
good.
