Here in the Coffee Shop back in 2005 a proposal to construct an official Sacred-Magick astral temple was made by Mr_Merlin. http://www.sacred-magick.org/index.php?showtopic=845Various Sacred-Magick.org members, including past moderator and curmudgeon-emeritus bym, assisted in constructing the temple by ritual means. http://www.sacred-magick.org/index.php?showtopic=1048 Aside from hosting the occasional curious visitor, the temple has since been seemingly abandoned and unused. In sympathy with fatherjhon, I propose that we change that. The temple may still be accessed visa-vie its sigil and by the following method as outlined by bym: QUOTE(bym @ Aug 22 2005, 06:23 PM) Find yourself a spot where you can be alone without fear of disturbance. Make yourself comfortable. If you can, you may burn alittle incense though this is not necessary! Relax, close your eyes. I find that brilliant sun is not conducive to mental traveling...but you must discover what works for you. Imagine (this is the important step) the Temple sigil as clearly as you can. I like to induce a light trance at this stage. A favored method would be to imagine this sigil as something embossed or painted on a big door. Once you have fixed the sigil in your minds eye, then slowly open the door and step through, onto a path in the jungle (or some sort of path). Note your surroundings. Walk down the path until you come to the Temple clearing. You are at the foot of the pyramid. Note wether or not it is night or day, the sky and the surrounding environment. Climb the pyramid steps until you reach the top. Note again your surroundings. You may continue at this point or, what I recommend for beginners, is to turn around and go back...the way you came...taking time to note your surroundings. go back to the door, step through and CLOSE the door.
Open your eyes, stretch, eat alittle or drink something. Do something totally mundane. Make a log of your journey, try to remember what your minds eye saw and make a note in your journal. If you meet any animals or people whilst journeying, take notes and deal with them on your second journey.
Note: Whilst you are enroute and during this journey, you will be safe from harm though if you wish to pack some protection, go for it. Make close note of any animal that presents itself to you in at least three separate instances/views...they may be a power animal. If you find yourself in a frightening situation or in danger, wake yourself up! This is a form of shamanic journey that is quick and somewhat fool proof. It is a form of mental travel and guided trance pathworking. Happy Trails!
Most Shamanic methods don't involve alot of props and are therefore handy when it comes to strict parents. Journeying is usually accompanied by drum beats and/or rattling. This is not mandatory!
This method may be modified as desired by the operator or abandoned in favor of a personalized ritual means of entry. Yet the temple sigil must be used in some capacity as a link to the temple, and it may be viewed at the following link: http://users.skynet.be/yoyodim/sigils/temple.htm------------- Unless there are any major objections, I propose that we schedule a group-meeting this coming Saturday the 11th at 9 p.m. eastern time, which is 8 p.m. central time; 7 p.m. mountain time; and 6 p.m. pacific time. Everyone is welcome to attend! Bring a friend, tell everyone you know! Let's try and do this once, just to meet and say howdy. Getting into the temple will be enough of a "first ritual" methinks. We can then plan greater workings for the temple in the future. This post has been edited by monkman418: Sep 6 2010, 01:39 AM

QUOTE(shadyelshafie @ Sep 6 2010, 02:25 AM) Saturday... I wont be in city, I will be in a vacation, so i think that time is good, if not i will ask for pushing it back. Wanted to ask how long is it to be ?
Ok, if the time isn't good please let us know ASAP. Easier to reschedule these things sooner than later. I'm thinking it will be about 15 minutes to half an hour, maybe longer if people want to stay. You can of course come and go at your leisure.

About the time , I thought I would mention in passing that I have always found the astral to have time that acts more like a whirlpool and less like a stream. As long as your intention is to to meet at the temple while we are all there, you will probably find your way to us. Just know when your going to visit relative to the time the meeting should have happened.
Also, Its a Saturday, fifteen minutes to meet with people in odd sub-consciously constructed shapes. I've payed for that kind of fun.
Shadyelshafie, astral work has a lot of common aspects no mater what one does. If you have run across being in the astral you know what its going to feel like. The only thing that comes to mind is that there will be a lot of "static," I guess would be the word. Most things have a unique feel to them but subtle differences that are easy to pick up one on one are muddied in groups. If your senses are not honed well -likemine are not- then we will have trouble telling who is who.

We contemplate that reality in which everything exists, to which everything belongs, from which everything has emerged, which is the cause of everything and which is everything.... The light of [this] self-knowledge alone illumines all experiences. It shines by its own light. This inner light appears to be outside and to illumine external objects.

QUOTE(fatherjhon @ Sep 12 2010, 03:13 PM) I showed up a little late. By the time I got there the room was rather full. I counter nine people other than me. If i counted right, that means that everyone who said they would try made it for a bit, and three people besides. My ability to see in the astral is limited at best so I spent most of the time over to the side trying to get a better picture. But at some point everyone arranged into a circle and I got the impression we where doing names. When the people to either side of me looked at me I figured it was my turn so I greeted everyone and said my name. I did not hear anyone name. I stayed for less than 10 min. In my efforts to connect with someone I might have been tossing off too much power so I left early rather than disrupt the meeting.
Monkman, I am almost positive I saw and could identify you. When I first arrived someone came to greet me. When I concentrated on the face I saw it was cowled and made the connection to your avatar.
Very interesting! I counted 5 when I first showed up, but later it seemed like more and I didn't make a recount. I also had the impression that we circled and that greetings were exchanged in general, the name round-about is very very familiar...I also didn't hear anything, but who had spiky orange hair? I may have greeted persons that were just arriving as well, and I did in fact imagine myself as entering the astral wearing a plain black hooded robe. It seemed like there was some astral play during the meeting, flying up in the air and back down, that kind of thing. When this stopped, people returned to the circle. During the circle, I created an image in the center of the space to see if anyone else would receive the message. Anyone see some type of animal in the temple? QUOTE(Bb3 @ Sep 13 2010, 01:56 AM) Interesting stuff, though I'm unsure and frankly don't care as to what the OG intent for the temple was I will say this, if should next time you make a group visit, don't make it a social call have a specific purpose (prayer, ritual for good-health for all-comers, magical knowledge power) this attempt was much too blank. I love a good party but don't waste, and to me a 'getting to know you, getting to know all about you' is a waste for such a inhabitance.
I'm sorry that you find our astral meeting so pointless and laughable. Perhaps you've done a lot of work in the astral, in which case-- congratulations! Many people here are just beginning to work with the astral, and I think it is extremely poor taste for you to make these comments when just getting to the temple is a big deal for some of us. I think if you took a little more than the 30 seconds of self-gratifying didactic mockery that you did with this thread, you'd see that this was very clearly stated as the purpose of the meeting to begin with. Shame on you Bb3 for raining on a good, all inclusive parade. This post has been edited by monkman418: Sep 13 2010, 06:27 AM

An astral gathering? Interesting, lemme know when there's another schedule coming up (IMG: style_emoticons/default/13.gif) However, I think Bb3 had a point in the purpose of the meeting To be able to walk the path to the temple and even further into meeting other members there is a good purpose and a good practice especially for those who just started doing this kinda stuff But adding a further purpose (for when one managed to enter the temple and into the meeting) could also aid in strengthening the construct purpose of existence and preserving the energy that we wish to encounter inside the temple (maybe spiritual healing and temporary resting area for its visitors, a temporary portal to open one's knowledge of the world, prayers for mother earth's well being, etc) In that sense, the temple can be somewhat of a destination point used for exploration practice in the astral realm, but by reaching and visiting there we also get a deeper benefit for our spiritual evolution Analogically, going to a party (one's journey to reach the temple), entering the party and greeting with the friends we meet there (reaching the temple and recognizing the entity there), after the greeting the host gathered everyone in the party to make a simple announcement or showing the main event for awhile (the further purpose for gathering mentioned before), and then everyone is free to socialize with everyone else or do whatever one want afterwards Just my 2 cent~

=edit= Right so arkham said it better than me, what i get for typing slow, but hell I wrote this so here it stays. =edit= Bb3 does not seem to acutely be laughing at us, only pointed out that the temple is a mystically significant place that, like all mystic places and items, will lose power if used for mundane reasons. ".... have a specific purpose...this attempt was much too blank....[not something] for such a inhabitance.". Why we don't cut potatoes with an anthem. Also, having a a ritual will focus us so that we are not bouncing off the walls. I like the name circle and perhaps next time we go, we should incorporate some formal version of it where we ask the temple to facilitate communication. A few time everyone in the room did a odd face shift thing where everyone I looked at had the face of a wolf. A bit odd but its the astral and like I said my vision is poor in the astral. The other fun thing was that so far we have a count of between 5 and 9 people showing up, but only 3 people posting there experiences. I am eager to hear from them as well. Hehe, sorry about that father *offering a basket full of ethereal light as a friendly compensation* BTW, from the comments so far, it seems that the experience is based on the meeting What about the temple structure? Is it in a good stable form when you guys spend time there? Did anyone here prepare the temple before that last meeting? Because if I'm not mistaken, that construct haven't been used for awhile And if that were the case, the temple's energy form might not be as solid or constructed enough if no one prepare and maintain it before the meeting, and in a way, might make the journey to reach the temple a little more difficult for some This post has been edited by arkham: Sep 13 2010, 07:29 PM

Stated in post number one. I'm not sure how practicing getting into the astral, and interacting in the astral, is analogous to cutting potatoes with an anthem. If some of us can't see in the astral, and some of us have never met anyone else in the astral, why is practicing going there a waste? Multiple people are now claiming they couldn't even make it because this first step was too much! Yet putting down the attempt as hollow and unworthy of the temple is okay? Really? Why not just tell all beginners that their efforts are pointless and unfit to be called magick?
