I have been reading a lot about people entering a Gate only to have the Gate Keeper tell them no. It seems that most everyones answer to this is to threaten the Gate Keeper and then you may proceed. My thoughts on this are if they are telling you no it's for a reason. Everything happens for a reason! Maybe if something was wrong or if you were not ready then the Gate Keeper would not want you to proceed? Please share thoughts and experiences....Thanks in advance.

Greetings,

You're correct on that Wickedone. I'm sure there are times when a Gatekeeper refuses entrance for a good reason. But there are other times when the Gatekeeper is more of an aspect of the Gate itself. In that, I mean, the Gatekeeper will many times try to test your resolve. Basically, see how bad you want to experience that Gate God by telling you no. It doesn't always mean you aren't ready, although, as you said, sometimes it does.
I remember when I was entering Shammash for the first time. The gatekeeper refused to open the gate for me, but I knew I was ready and worthy to at least enter. So I commanded him to open up, yet he still didn't. So I hit him as hard as I could, and the Gate opened. Once I entered I managed to meet the Gate God and ended up doing well, even though the Gatekeeper refused me entry.
I guess one must be very careful to know yourself before walking a gate. At least then you'll have some idea whether or not to bust your way in. Although it could also be said that Gatekeeper or no gatekeeper, if you aren't supposed to be entering, you aren't. But you brought up a good point here.
Eabatu, Ashnook, Endupanna, any thoughts?

Peace.

Well when I walked NANNA gate the gate keeper didnt even pay any attention to me. I guess he was like "go in if you want or if you can!" Thats what i took it as. I was going in whether he said I could or not! It is interesting this matter though, what is the gatekeepers real purpose then if we can enter by the force of our will then? To test the will of the initiate? To keep the unworthy out? To be an obstacle in the walking? All of the above? I cant really say w/o being full of it to be blunt. But if you really do want in it can be done if your resolve is strong enough.

The Gate Keepers. Whose side are they on anyways? According to the Nec they serve the Elder Gods and thier lord is the Gatekeeper of the Gods Adar / Ninib. / Ninurta.

The 49th name in the Nec is Nebiru. The spirit of the gate of Marduk.

Stop.

This is different than the Enuma Elish. In the Enuma Nebiru is the 50th name and Ninnuam is nowhere to be found. This looks like a clue to me. A very big clue.

Nebiru actually has more lines dedicated to his name in the Enuma Elish than any of the other 50 names. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. He seems kind of important does he not? Why did someone purposely put him out of order? To cloud the thoughts of the uninitiated and leave a calling card for future priest to find in careful study?

Examining the Enuma Elish Nebiru is called a star which governs the paths of the others. It is only logical that this star be Saturn / Ninib / Adar. An outer planet with enough gravity to effect the inner planets orbit.

However upon calling Nebiru I find him to be a completely different spirit than Adar. Although his flavor tastes that of Saturn. Albeit Nebiru seems more jovial and eager to help than that of the master necromancer of the Gods Ninib. Pg 60 <Number of Anu?> It is writ. "Ninib Gatekeeper of the astral gods open thy Gate to me!"

What the fudge? These Gatekeepers are quite confusing.

One day they give you a name. The next they might forbid you entrance of even attack you. Wait a minute if these things serve the Elder Gods they should not attack and forbid entrance right? What is this some kind of test? I forgot the name I received on the last sphere. It was Nuddumsomething. Get out of the way damn it. I mean if you are going to stand in the middle of the door and block the way I dn't mind kicking your ass buddy. Stoopid Gatekeeper. What the heck is wrong with you?

After attaining Adar I was quite surprised that he was pissed off at me. He held me in contempt. Well fudge Ninib no one told me that you were the master gatekeeper. If I had known it was going to piss you off so bad I would not have smacked your guys around. But hey they started it. I know your grandpa is Anu and your daddy is Enlil. I would not have been a dork hole if I had known you were the master gate keeper. Here I have publicly apologized to you Ninib. Can we be friends now?

So it was a test and although I seem to have passed I got a bad grade. c -. Apparently I should have been respectful of the Gatekeepers. I guess I shoulda turned back when they told me to? Was that part of the test? Hell after walking every gate mentioned in the book for years I still can not figure these gatekeepers out. I guess that means I am missing something which should be apparent. No one can ever be a Gate Master. The Gates go out to the stars and beyond the farthest reaches of the stars. What mortal could ever hope to understand the intricacies of thier ways?

I would ask a Gate Keeper for advice but they all seem kinda pissed off at me. Damn these guys hold a grudge? I thought they were Holy and all that stuff. Grumpy Gatekeepers.

Nebiru is very cool though. He has always been helpful. Except that time I tried Seraphim's Nebiru ritual and got a migraine for a week. Damn that hurt. It seems Nebiru blasted my mind with some good stuff though as by the time the migrane healed life got real groovy. Nice ritual Nostoro Tehuti.

If you want advice on the Gatekeepers I can not give much. Its fairly obvious to me that somehow I #ucked up with them. I can advise you to call the 49th name. Wait a minute is he really the 50? Hint! Hint! Nebiru is super cool. He can show you how the universe moves and all kinds of stuff which human words are lacking to describe. Such wondrous visions. Hell you can think about these visions for years and you still will not know what the hell Nebiru was talking about. It will definitely change the mind though. I think thats what sorcery is. Its altering the mind right?

May Anu have mercy on us all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nebiru--the spirit of the crossings, he who governs the paths of the spheres and determines their destinies. I have to dis agree w/ edunpanna on this matter due to my Sitchin leanings--sorry bro! But to me Nebiru is Sitchins NIBIRU---or some aspect of that planet. I will investigate this more so I can give a reliable disertation. Now onto the gatekeepers. I just walked Nanna gate again and this time the gatekeeper agknowledged me but still did nothing --almost like he was saying "you know how to get in buddy--do it yourself!" which is a sort of respect he gave me I took it as. But like what Edunpanna said---who can figure out these gatekeepers--they work on divine logic--which is eons beyond human logic.....so the debate rages on....
