Personalized practice has alot of good potential, I will agree with that. But, depending on the practicioner, there may be a need for others to evaluate and compare conclusions, as for the -hows-, -whats-, and -whys-. Not many do this, and prefer a solitary-all-the-way approach, which can carry a risk of developing delusions of reality (sick the dogs on me for that statement
later).
Even though reality is arbitrary, there is a collective matrix of energy given by this world, its people, and its reality which creates a reflexive existence. Although one must master their "inner worlds," they should realize that there is a balance: the outer world. It is what we have to work within, for the moment being until there is a monumental change.
Why I am saying all this is because there are many a time where a magician will undergo their studies, and lose touch with the reality/dimension/existence which has them rooted in the world they were originally meant to be in. Their spirit is technically out of body, or rather, out of center, and results in bad energy. A common symptom of overexploration is the creation of their own reality with complete disregard for the reality their bodies- their roots -have here. Living in a reality where one does not belong, or where one cannot be completely,
this is called delusion, and may result from being too haphazard in one's quest for magick.
This is why I endorse the Idea of working in a loose affiliation of friends that congregate in a council style for magickal purposes, such as a Magick Scholar Symposium of sorts, but each be a student/pupil/scholar of their own school of thought and method. This then, allows one solitary practicioner to realize there are other truths that may work within the world they originally started with, and carries less risk of becoming stagnant in one's own narrow mode of thought.
Solidarity through solitarity, but definetely not being the sole soul! (IMG:
