Chaos. I hear this word bandied about and attached to this and that, but what is chaos? Some would argue chaos as the opposing pole of order, I am not one of them. I would define chaos as the undifferentiated state out of which both order and disorder arise. Chaos is the nature of existence before it is divided, before it is distinguished, as this or that. There is symmetry in chaos but it is not an imposition of order, merely the nature of chaos itself, which manifests existence as the balance of opposites. When good is deemed, evil is birthed, and so the balance maintained. When order arises somewhere else disorder must naturally arise as well. This is the tao of chaos.
