it has been causing a slew of problems. inability to concentrate, not doing homework, not eating, sleeping in, being depressed ect.
If these are the kinds of problems you're having, I can make a few suggestions. Some of these are based on studies in psychology that have been done (see Richard Wiseman's work), some are based on personal experience.
For depression try practicing gratitude on a daily basis. You don't have to pray or get into any formal ritual; just say thank you for the good things in your life. Also, spending time with loved ones and friends is always a winner.
For difficulty with concentration you could take up concentration meditation. Quite simply, sit comfortably with your eyes closed and concentrate on one thing for the entire session. Start with 10 minutes a day and build it up to an hour, or whatever your schedule allows. Exclusive concentration does for the mind what exercise does for the body, and so a strong argument could be made to take it up as a life long practice (parroting Alan Chapman here). If you need an immediate intervention, you could try brainwave entrainment. 20 minutes of 20hz a day does wonders for me.
For procrastination come up with a step-by-step plan to achieve your goals. Be as realistic and specific as you can. Once you've done that, take 10 minutes to review your plan on a daily basis and formally resolve to complete the next step in your plan, whatever that may be. Believing in yourself, that you are able to complete the next step and that you will complete it, is essential to the process.
Good luck.
